Acquired by the Braves along with three international bonus pool slots (No. 2, No. 3, No. 4) from the Chicago Cubs in exchange for infielder Tommy La Stella on November 16, 2014. Returned to the majors for the first time since undergoing "Tommy John" surgery in March of 2012 afterbeing promoted to the Cubs on 9/2. Made his first appearance as a Cub on 9/6 vs. PIT, allowing one run in 1.0 inning. It was his first Major League outing since 9/27/11 vs. PHI while with Atlanta (a span of 1,075 days between MLB games). Combined to go 1-1 with two saves and a 3.51 ERA (16 ER/41.0 IP) in 40 relief appearances spanningthree minor league levels, while striking out 42 and walking 18. Pitched in five games for Chicago, and posted a 5.40 ERA (3 ER/5.0 IP). He walked three and struck out four, while he held opponents to a .263 average (5-for-19). Opened the season with Single-A Daytona, and pitched to a 1.00 ERA (1 ER/9.0 IP) in nine outings. Hewalked four and struck out 10, and held opponents to a .194 average. Joined Double-A Tennessee on 5/7 and went 1-1 with one save and a 2.63 ERA (4 ER/13.2 IP) in 14 outings. He struck out 16 compared to three walks and opponents batted .149. Arodys began the season rehabbing his arm following Tommy John surgery he underwent in Spring Training of 2012 ... had arthroscopic surgery on his right elbow in late May to clear out a calcium buildup that sidelined him for the remainder of the season - the procedure was performed by Dr. James Andrews ... on the 60-day disabled list from March 27-November 4.
