Christian Devont’a Pelham was originally signed by Rangers scout Jay Heafner…graduated from Lancaster (S.C.) High School…attended Spartanburg Methodist College.

2024

Began the season pitching for Yucatan in the Mexican League and was 2-1 with a 1.04 ERA in 17 relief appearances when he released on May 30 to sign a minor league deal with the Los Angeles Angels the next day…combined for a 1.80 ERA in 10 games with the ACL Angels and Double-A Rocket City before he was released on July 28...Had a .171 opponents batting average in the Angels farm system but walked nine in 10.0 innings while striking out 12...Had a .154 (4-for-26) opponents batting average and .473 OPS against right-handed hitters and .222 (2-for-9) with a .906 OPS against left-handers...Allowed his only inherited runner to score…first batters faced were 1-for-7 (.143) with three walks (.400 on-base percentage)...Made nine of his 10 appearances in his home ballpark...Was named to the Mexican League Midseason All-Star team.

2019

C.D. went 1-4 with an 11.97 ERA (43 ER/32.1 IP) in 42 relief outings between Triple-A Nashville and Double-A Frisco ... allowed 40 walks in 32.1 innings pitched, striking out 37. 

2018

The September callup saw his first major league action after opening the campaign in High-A…allowed 6 R-ER over 7.2 IP in 10 relief appearances after having his contract purchased by Texas from Frisco (AA) on 9/4…had a 2.087 WHIP with 4 BB/7 SO in limited action
with TEX, as opponents batted .353/.421/.529/.950 (12-34)…had zero save chances, one hold, 2 games finished, and stranded 4 of 5 inherited runners… made ML debut on 9/5 vs. LAA (0.2 IP, 4 H, 1 R-ER) and ranked 4th on staff in appearances from the time of his debut to end of season…in 8 G from 9/7-25, had 2.84 ERA (2 ER/6.1 IP), then allowed 3 R-ER in 0.2 IP in his final outing on 9/28 at SEA.

2017

Ranked third among all Texas minor leaguers and tied for fourth in the South Atlantic League with 13 saves with Single-A Hickory ... Held opponents to a .204/.288/.339/.628 slash line, including .188/.302/.288/.590 by lefties ... Was promoted to Single-A Down East for the postseason and tossed 2.0 scoreless innings in his lone outing with the Wood Ducks.

2015

In his pro debut, averaged 11.8 strikeouts per nine innings over 16 relief outings with the AZL Rangers. 

2016

Spent the entire season with Single-A Spokane ... posted a 3.24 ERA (6 ER/16.2 IP) as a reliever and a 8.44 ERA (20 ER/21.1 IP) as a starter.
