Christopher Doyle Snelling...makes his offseason home in Peoria, AZ...graduated from Corpis Christi College and Tuggerah High in Australia...was playing for the Syndey Storm in the Australian Baseball League upon being discovered by Mariners scouts...father, Jeff, was a top-notch tennis coach who has worked with Jimmy Connors, among others.

2007

Was acquired by the A's from the Washington Nationals in early May and appeared in just six games before going on the disabled list and missing the remainder of the season...it was his eighth career stint on the DL...has been on the DL at least once every year since 2002 and twice in 2005 and 2006...has never played more than 36 games at the Major League level...batted a combined .246 with one home run and seven RBI in 30 games with the A's and Nationals...added a career high 14 walks for a .395 on-base percentage...was hitting .204 with one home run and seven RBI in 24 games with Washington when he was traded to the A's for Ryan Langerhans following the game on May 2...started each of his first six games with Oakland (five in center field, one in left field) and went 7 for 20 (.350) with five walks and four runs scored...hit safely in each of his first five games and matched his career high with two hits on May 5 at Tampa Bay and May 8 at Kansas City...was placed on the disabled list on May 16 retroactive to May 11 with a left knee contusion...injured his knee in the second inning on May 10 at Kansas City...was sent to Sacramento to begin a rehab assignment on June 4 and went 3 for 15 (.200) with two RBI in four games before his knee problems returned and his rehab was halted on June 12...returned to Sacramento again on June 24 and went 0 for 4 in two games before he was returned from rehab on June 27 and transferred to the 60-day DL on June 29...did not play the rest of the year...started 10 games with the Nationals, all in left field...was also 1 for 4 as a pinch hitter and is now 4 for 12 (.333) in his career in the pinch...hit .269 (7 for 26) over his first 12 games and then went 3 for 23 (.130) over his final 12 games before being dealt to the A's...hit his first National League home run on April 14 at New York, a solo shot off Orlando Hernandez...had a career high three RBI in that game...had the gamewinning infield single in the top of the 14th inning on April 20 at Florida.

2006

Entered season as one of SEA's top prospects and, in most extensive big league exposure, hit .250 with 3 homers and 8 RBI in 36 games during August and September...struggled in the minor leagues for the first time, hitting just .216 in 69 games with Tacoma of the Triple-A Pacific Coast league...endured a pair of Disabled List stints...started the year on the 15-Day DL while recovering from September 2005 surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee...was reinstated on May 20, and was optioned the same day to Tacoma...was recalled July 26, and went on the 15-Day DL again that day with a left shoulder impingement...rehabbed with Tacoma from July 27-August 14, and was reinstated to SEA on August 17...went 10-for-23 (.435) during career-best 8-game hitting streak, August 18-27...hit just .177 (11-for-62) in September/October.
Game-By-Game Highlights: Legged out his first big league triple, August 19 at LAA...registered his first career multihomer game on August 29 vs. LAA by stroking a pair of solo homers of Jeff Weaver.
In Minor Leagues: Earned PCL Player of the Week honors for the period ending of June 25...hit .429 (9-for-21) with 5 doubles, a homer and 8 RBI to pocket the citation.

2005

Hit .276 (8x29) with one home run and an RBI in 15 games over two stints with Seattle...Suffered a season-ending injury to his left knee on Aug. 10, tearing the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL)... surgery on Sept. 27 to repair the ACL was performed by Dr. Lewis Yocum...Notched a season-high tying two hits on Aug. 10 before injury...also had two hits with his only homer of the year on Aug. 8...Recalled the first time on July 3...played in nine games, going 2x9 before July 26 option to Tacoma...recalled the second time on Aug. 5 and hit .300 (6x20) in six games before injury...Began the season on the disabled list with a torn meniscus in his left knee...activated on April 14 and optioned to Tacoma...Batted .370 (91x246) with 50 runs, 17 doubles, two triples, eight home runs and 46 RBI over 55 games at Tacoma...Hit .338 (26x77) with two homers and 13 RBI over 21 games in June...batted .337 (30x89) with three homers and 14 RBI in 23 May games...Hit .367 at home, .374 on the road with Tacoma...Hit safely in 21 of 22 games from May 7 to June 4, including a season-high 11-game streak from May 7-20.

2004

Missed full season recovering from injuries...had surgery Feb. 27 in Peoria, AZ, to remove the hook of the hamate bone in his right hand; Dr. Beth Purdy performed the surgery...placed on the 15-day DL April 1 (retroactive to March 26)...had surgery April 20 in Seattle to repair a tear in a ligament in his right wrist; Dr. Carlton Keck performed the surgery...on rehabilitation assignment in Arizona from Aug. 1-13, but was shut back down with tendonitis in right elbow.

2003

Began season on the disabled list recovering from a torn left ACL suffered in 2002... reinstated from the disabled list on April 30 and optioned to San Antonio...hit .316 with 22 extra-base hits and 35 RBI combined between San Antonio and Tacoma...hit safely in 37 of 47 games with San Antonio, including 16 of his last 17 games...had 19 multi-hit games, including a season-high four hits on May 3 at Wichita...hit .317 (19x60) with runners in scoring position and .367 (11x30) with runners in scoring position and two outs...promoted to Tacoma, July 25, appearing in 18 games.

2002

Played in 8 ML games in before suffering season-ending injury...selected from double-A San Antonio May 25 and made ML debut that night vs. Baltimore, going 0x3 in left field...had first ML hit (off Ryan Rupe) May 28 at Tampa Bay, going 1x4...belted first ML HR May 29 at Tampa Bay off Tanyon Sturtze in his 12th career at-bat...tore ACL in left knee rounding third base June 4 at Oakland...placed on 60-day disabled list June 5...hit .326 (29x89) in 23 games with San Antonio prior to recall.

2001

Led the Mariners farm system and California League with a .336 (151x450) average, highlighted by a 25-game hit streak...finished second in the league in triples (10) and on base percentage (.418), fourth in hits...had 43 multi-hit games...named San Bernardino's Most Valuable Player by Mariners organization...drove in at least one run in 7 straight games from June 12-25...named league's Player of the Week for July 2-8 after hitting .429 (12x28) with 4 runs, a home run and 6 RBI...had 25-game hitting streak from July 8-Aug. 7, batting .449 (48x107) over that span...again named POW for July 23-29 batting 17x29 (.586) with 10 runs, 2 doubles, a triple, home run and 10 RBI...California League player of the month of July, batting .443 and collecting 47 hits in 25 games...named to the League's mid-season All-Star Team...a fractured right ankle ended his season, as he was placed on the DL Aug. 25 through the end of the year...named to SportsTicker's All-Prospect and All-Teen Teams.

2000

Saw limited action in with Wisconsin after two stints on the DL...hit .305 in 72 games and was named the third-best prospect of the Midwest League by Baseball America... began the year with an eight-game hitting streak (April 6-15)...hit .364 (39x107) with 34 RBI in May...began June by hitting .395 (15x38) in his first 10 games before suffering a left hand metacarpal fracture June 9...despite the injury, was named to the Midwest All- Star Team...reinstated July 13 and played in six games before landing on the DL with left scapho-lunate ligament damage in his hand...reinstated in late Aug....hit .385 (5x13) with six RBI in three postseason games before leaving the squad to participate in the 2000 Summer Olympics with the Australian National Team.

1999

Spent first pro season with Everett...had 33 walks, compared to 24 strikeouts...led team in games played, at bats, hits, total bases (132), home runs, RBI and walks...tied for team lead in doubles and triples...reached safely via hit or walk in his first 37 games, June 18-Aug. 3...had a career-day July 21 vs. Boise, going 5x5 with 8 RBI, while hitting for the cycle and a grand slam; 8 RBI was tied for 3rd-most in all of minor league baseball in 1999...named Everett's Co-MVP with teammate Termel Sledge...invited to try out for Australian Olympic Baseball team.
