Robert Patrick Montes...Parents are Robert and Ani … has one brother, Nico, and one sister, Angela...Graduated from Coral Gables High School (Fla.)...Played many sports growing up but did not begin playing baseball until high school...Played three seasons at the University of South Florida where he majored in criminology...As a junior in 2018, named to the All-AAC second team and AAC Championship All-Tournament team.

2023

Made his Major League debut for the Rockies on June 11, appearing in 18 total games...Had his contract selected from Triple-A Albuquerque on June 11…optioned on July 2…served a second stint on the active roster July 31-Aug. 7 … designated for assignment on Sept. 5 and outrighted to Triple-A...Went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI in his Major League debut on June 11 vs. San Diego...Hit a game-tying two-run home run in the eighth inning … became the ninth Rockies player in history to homer in their Major League debut (last: Sam Hilliard, Aug. 27, 2019 vs. Boston), the first to hit a game-tying or go-ahead homer in the eighth inning or later in their debut … was the first Major Leaguer to do so since Ke’Bryan Hayes on Sept. 1, 2020 vs. Chicago-NL...Recorded the first three-hit game of his career and his first career double on June 23 vs. Los Angeles-NL...Through 18 total games with the Rockies, hit .184 (7-for-38) with two doubles, one home run and three RBI...Named a PCL Post-Season All-Star after slashing .317/.400/.550 in 107 games with the Isotopes, logging 26 doubles, five triples, 22 home runs, 89 RBI and 11 stolen bases … led the club in total bases (240), home runs and RBI...Recorded three four-hit games and two two-home run games...Named by his Albuquerque teammates as the Most Valuable Player and Power Hitter of the Year...Played for Aguilas in the Dominican Winter League in the 2023-24 offseason, slashing .320/.377/.433 through 27 games … finished 10th in the league in batting.

Promoted to Triple-A Albuquerque on April 28 and slashed .274/.359/.500 with 27 doubles, four triples, 20 home runs and 77 RBI in 111 games with the Isotopes...Ranked ninth in the Pacific Coast League in slugging (.500) and OPS (.859)...With the Isotopes, made 36 starts at both second base and shortstop and 34 starts at third base...Played 15 games with Double-A Hartford prior to his promotion and slashed .245/.383/.265.

2021

Finished tied for second among all Minor Leaguers with 37 doubles in 116 games with Double-A Hartford...Ranked second in the Double-A Northeast in hits (111), tied for second in extra-base hits (53), was fourth in total bases (193) and 10th in RBI (60)...Hit .311 (28-for-90) in 24 games in June with nine doubles, one triple, two home runs and 12 RBI...nine doubles were tied for the fifth-most in the Northeast.

2020

Did not play due to the cancellation of the Minor League season.

2019

Led the South Atlantic League with a career-high 89 RBI...Finished among league leaders in total bases (203, 5th), hits (129,T-5th), extra-base hits (45, T-6th) and doubles (29, 9th).
