Cristian Antonio Guzman...with Jose Guillen, Chad Cordero and Zach Day, helped the Nationals debut their home and away jerseys at a local Meet and Greet Party/Ceremony located at DC's ESPN Zone on February 2, 2005.
2009
Followed up career year in '08 with another solid offensive season, although foot problems (bunions) hampered 2nd-half production as batting mark dipped 20 points after the All-Star break...led Nationals with 7 triples...batted .304 (95-for-312) in 72 games during the first half, .256 (56-for-219) in 63 contests thereafter...tallied 2 or more hits and at least one RBI in a franchise-record 7 straight games from July 24-August 1...no franchise player had ever posted more than 5 straight games with at least 2 hits and one RBI...with the 7-game 2-and-1 streak, also set a Washington Nationals (2005-present) record for most consecutive games with at least one RBI...bested a mark held previously by Jesus Flores (6 games, July 30-August 5, 2008)...hit .457 (32-for-70) with 5 doubles, 2 triples, 2 home runs and 16 RBI during a 17-game hit streak, July 23-August 12...17-game streak was 2nd-longest by a Nationals player in '09 and was tied for 5th-longest in the NL...tallied 16 multi-hit efforts in first 26 starts in 2009...missed 12 games after being placed on DL on April 14 with left hamstring injury...on Oct. 8, had right shoulder scoped by Dr. Wiemi Douoguih in Washington DC.

Washington's 2008 All-Star signed 2-year extension, July 22...in first complete season since 2005, set career highs in batting (.316), hits (183), doubles (35), on-base percentage (.345) and total bases (255)...57 strikeouts were also a career low for complete big league season...ranked among NL leaders in batting average (4th), hits (4th), multi-hit games (3rd, 57), three-plus hit games (first, 19), singles (2nd, 134), infield hits (tied for 8th, 25), at-bats per strikeout (8th, 10.74)...paced NL shortstops in batting (.317)...led the Nationals in hits with RISP (37)...also ranked 2nd among NL shortstops in hits (182)...recorded the 2nd 40-hit month in Washington Nationals (2005-2008) history in June... Dmitri Young also tallied 40 hits in June of 2007...was selected to NL All-Star Team by COL manager Clint Hurdle on July 6...went 0-for-3 and played 3B for the NL, which lost, 4-3, in 15 innings...had never played any position but SS before the All-Star Game...the All-Star citation was 2nd of career (also 2001 Mid-Summer Classic at Safeco Field)... was batting .311 with 25 doubles, 5 home runs and 27 RBI at the time of the selection...hit .322 (19-for-59) with 3 doubles, 3 RBI, 4 walks and 5 runs scored during a team season high-tying 14-game hitting streak, June 21-July 6... strung together franchise single season-record 8 consecutive multi-hit efforts from August 26-September 3...August 28 vs. LAD, became the first Washington, DC-based big leaguer to hit for the cycle (sequence HR, 1B, 2B, 3B) in front of fans in the Nation's Capital...the cycle was the 7th to occur in DC since 1900, the first in nearly 61 years or since DET's Vic Wertz ran the gamut, Sept. 14, 1947 at Griffith Stadium...before pocketing the cycle, 6 players representing the AL Nationals, Senators, expansion Senators or Nationals hit for the cycle, but all 6 came on the road...was beat to the punch by Brad Wilkerson (April 6, 2005 at PHI), Jim King (May 26, 1964 at BOS), Mickey Vernon (May 19, 1946 at CWS), Joe Cronin (September 2, 1929 at BOS), Goose Goslin (August 28, 1924 at NYY), Otis Clymer (October 2, 1908 at NYY)...hit .348 (97-for-279) at Nationals Park...batted .300-or-better against all NL East foes, .348 overall...hit .300 or better in every month but March/April (.294) and July (.250)...closed strong, batting .373 in September.
2007
After missing the 2006 season due to injury, re-established reputation on the field but was again done in by injuries... hit .328 (57-for-174) with 6 doubles, a team-leading 6 triples, 2 home runs and 14 RBI for Washington, but was limited to 46 games due to left hamstring strain (sustained on Opening Day, April 2 vs. FLA) and a torn left thumb ligament (suffered while tagging Josh Barfield out attempting to steal, June 24 vs. CLE.)...missed 108 games while on the DL... had surgery to repair the thumb, performed by Dr. Richard Barth at Sibley Hospital in DC, on June 25...notched 4 hits, including 1000th of career, in a 4-3 win on June 1 vs. SDP...1000th safety was 5th-inning infield single off Jake Peavy...in first game at Metrodome since departing following the '04 campaign, went 4-for-5 with double, RBI and 3 runs scored to trigger an 8-5 win, June 8 at MIN...posted 3 more hits the next night in a 3-1 win at MIN, June 9...hit first homer at RFK since signing with the Nationals, June 22 vs. CLE...hit .369 in 29 games at RFK...recorded 17 multi-hit efforts in 42 starts...batted .373 in June...tied for 12th in the NL with 6 triples despite playing in less than 50 games. Game-By-Game Highlights: Posted 2 hits and 2 RBI in a 6-4 win, May 13 vs. FLA...3-walk effort on May 18 vs. BAL was first since April 11, 2000 at BOS (2593 days prior)...2-hit, 2-RBI performance on May 22 at CIN included game-tying 7th-inning RBI single in game eventually won by the Nationals, 8-4...went 2-for-5 and scored the game-ending run on a Solomon Torres 9th-inning wild pitch in a 6-5 win vs. PIT on June 6...posted 3 hits, including a double and triple, and 2 RBI, June 18 vs. DET...was reinstated from DL on September 21.
2006
Did not play in 2006 while rehabbing from May 8 season-ending surgery on right shoulder to repair a SLAP tear...the procedure took place in Cincinnati, OH and was performed by Dr. Timothy Kremchek, the Nationals Senior Orthopedic Consultant and Cincinnati Reds Medical Director and Chief Orthopedic Surgeon and Nationals Team Orthopedist Ben Shaffer...before the shoulder ailment arose, played in 5 Grapefruit League contests for the Nationals, going 2-for-9 with one RBI...had laser surgery on eyes prior to '06 campaign.
2005
Hit .201 before the All-Star break and .243 after the break. ... His best month came during the month of September, hitting .325 with one home run and 12 RBIs.
2004
