home runs and 21 RBI in 67 games before he was optioned to Sacramento June 22...appeared in 17
games with the River Cats before going on the disabled list...his batting average, on-base percentage
(.325) and slugging percentage (.267) were all career lows...had 236 at-bats, which were eighth most in
Oakland history by a player with no home runs...they were the most since Jason Kendall went homerless
in 601 at-bats in 2005...had 234-at bats while playing first base...the last time a Major League first
baseman hit no home runs in a season with at least that many at-bats was 1984 when Al Oliver (396
at-bats, SF and PHI) and Pete Rose (237, MON and CIN) both did it...since 1974, the only American
League first baseman with more homerless at-bats in a season is Mike Squires of the 1981 Chicago
White Sox (288 at-bats)...now has a career-high 69-game homerless streak, including 66 consecutive
