Dillon James Peters... Is a 2011 graduate of Cathedral High School in Indianapolis, IN, where was named all-state in baseball in 2009 and 2010... Was selected as the Indiana Super Team Player-of-the-Year in 2010... Went 12-1 with a 0.63 ERA and 154 strikeouts in 89.1ip as a senior after going 10-1 with a 0.99 ERA and 112 strikeouts in 71.0ip as a junior... Also pitched at the University of Texas... Posted a 6-3 record and 1.97 ERA as a sophomore and a 7-3 record and 2.13 ERA as a junior for the Longhorns... Tossed 7.0 innings in a combined no-hitter against Kansas State on May 16, 2014... His college career and junior season were cut short by Tommy John surgery following 2014 Big 12 Tournament.

2021

Spent first half of season with Salt Lake (Angels’ AAA)... Went 0-2 with a 6.95 ERA (22.0ip/17er) in his first four starts thru 6/1 and 2-0 with a 1.40 ERA (19.1ip/3er) in his final four starts thru 7/10...Was designated for assignment on 7/14... Was acquired by the Pirates in exchange for cash considerations on 7/19; was assigned to Triple-A Indianapolis...Made his first two appearances in relief (3.0ip/0r)... Pitched 5.0 hitless innings while picking up his first win with Indy on 8/7 at Iowa... Made a final Triple-A appearance in relief on 8/11 (1.0ip/1er)... Was recalled by Pittsburgh on 8/15 and started that afternoon vs. Milwaukee; gave up two runs (one earned) in 4.2ip and suffered the 2-1 loss... Allowed just one run in 5.0ip in his second start on 8/21 at St. Louis (no-decision)... Was on the 10-day injured list from 8/28 to 9/7 with a low back strain... Was reinstated on 9/7 and had a no-decision that day vs. Detroit (4.0ip/2er)... Pitched 5.0 scoreless innings while winning his first game on 9/14 vs. Cincinnati; was his first big league win since 9/24/19 while pitching with the Angels...Gave up four runs in 3.0ip while making his last start on 9/20 at Cincinnati... Was placed on the 10-day injured list on 9/24 (retro to 9/21) with a low back strain and missed remainder of the season...Went 0-for-5 with a walk and a run scored as a batter.

2020

Missed first 36 games of season on Angels injured list...Reinstated from IL, Sept. 1 and was optioned to Alternate Training Site...Appointed as 29th man for doubleheader vs. Houston, Sept. 5...Started Game 2 of doubleheader in only appearance of season...Returned to Alternate Training Site after start and remained in Long Beach for rest of regular season.

2019

Appeared in 17 Major League games (12 starts) in first season in Angels organization...Set new career highs in every major pitching category across four big league stints... Made Angels debut Apr. 16 at Texas after opening season with Triple-A Salt Lake...Totaled 13 games (11 starts) in three stints with Bees... Tossed 7.2 innings Aug. 2 at Cleveland as Angels primary pitcher after Taylor Cole opened...Marked longest outing of career and second-longest appearance for an Angels pitcher in 2019...His 7.2 IP were most in a game for any Angels relief pitcher since Gary Ross (7.2 IP) June 30, 1976 at White Sox... Allowed three-or-fewer earned runs in 13 of 17 appearances for Angels... Held opponents to a .268 (45/168) average against off-speed pitches, compared with a .320 (40/125) average against his four-seamer... Opponents hit .378 (28/74) against his first 25 pitches of an appearance but held batters to a .260 average (57/219) after reaching his 26th pitch of an outing.

2018

Made first career Opening Day roster with Marlins...Earned win in season debut Apr. 1 vs. Cubs after tossing six shutout innings... Optioned to Triple-A New Orleans, May 3 and would spend majority of season with Baby Cakes... Only other Major League appearance came July 5 at Washington with two innings pitched in relief... Fanned career-high 12 batters Aug. 29 vs. Nashville, while pitching career-high eight scoreless innings... Finished season with New Orleans on a four game winning streak.

2017

Overcame broken left thumb early in Minor League season and went 7-3 with a 1.57 ERA (63.0 ip/11 er) in 13 starts before earning his first MLB promotion in September... Had contract selected by Miami on September 1 and made MLB debut that night with a start vs. Philadelphia...Went 7.0 innings and struck out eight in debut, leaving in line for the win. Allowed just three hits and three walks. Tied Club record for innings pitched in an MLB debut, joining Justin Nicolino (June 20, 2015) and Brad Penny (April 7, 2000), and also tied for most strikeouts in an MLB debut, joining José Fernández (April 7, 2013)...In debut, infielder Brian Anderson also started and made MLB debut. Marked 18th time in Club history two-or-more players made MLB debut in same game, and just fourth time that two players started MLB debut together, joining Justin Bour & J.T.
