Full name is Greg Lomack Allen…his cousin, DeWayne Patmon, played collegiate football at Michigan and for the New York Giants…graduated from Hilltop High School in Chula Vista, Calif., in 2011, where he won four varsity letters as a baseball player…was named Mesa League “Player of the Year” as a senior…was a member of the San Diego Union-Tribune All-Academic Baseball Team his final two seasons…majored in business at San Diego State University… played three baseball seasons there for Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn, his childhood idol…as a junior, hit .305 with 52R and eight doubles in 61 games and led the Mountain West Conference with 25SB en route to being named the school’s 2013-14 Male Student-Athlete of the Year…was also a member of the 2014 Capital One Academic All-District 8 Team…is a two-time recipient of the Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Award…was a member of the Orleans Firebirds in the Cape Cod League during the summer of 2013.

2021

Split second straight season between Columbus and Cleveland, spending four overall stints with the Indians after making his first Major League Opening Day roster...Was on the OD roster until April 28 and other stints came May 25-June 3, July 6-30 and again August 6 through the remainder of the season....Started the year 4-for-46 over his first 22 games before connecting on a 2-run, 9th inning home run on May 28 at Boston that tied the game, 5-5...From May 28-end of season he batted .263 (49-186) with 7 2B, 3 3B, 4 HR and 21 RBI over his final 66 games...Overall on the year he made 35 starts in left field (60 games), 15 starts in center field (18 games) and 8 starts in right field (13 games)...Enjoyed a pair of four-hit games, the first of his career, on July 7 at Cincinnati and August 15 at NYY...In the 8/15 game at Yankee Stadium he went 4-for-5 with a 2B, HR, 4 RBI and 4 runs (single-game career-highs for hits, runs, RBI)...From Aug. 16-end of season he batted .183 (15-for-82)...With Columbus, he batted .268 (53-for-198) w/9 2B, 3 3B, 5 HR, 17 RBI and 37 runs in 48 games…Recorded an OPS of .726 vs. right-handed pitching and a .423 OPS vs. left-handed pitching, batting just .186 (13-for-70 from the right side of the plate (2 2B)...Hit .170 (17-for-100) with runners on base and .345 (19-for-55) when leading off an inning.

Split the season between AAA Columbus and Cleveland, spending five stints at the Major League level (April 17-18; May 6-June 17; July 3-18; July 30-31; August 9-remainder)...His fifth and final stint was his most productive of the campaign, compiling a career-high 14-game hitting streak that spanned from July 15-August 21 (longest by a rookie in MLB in 2018), over which he batted .400 (20-50)...Over his final stint with Cleveland from Aug. 9-on, he batted .297 (35-118) over the final 43 games of the season...His 21 steals were the most by an Indians rookie since Kenny Lofton's 66 in 1992...Finished tied for 10th in the American League in steals (most by an A.L. rookie) and T-11th in sac hits (4) ... ‹‹Overall with Cleveland, he made 65 starts in center field (78 games), 4 starts in right (16 games) and made 3 appearances in left on the season...He hit his second career home run on May 27 vs. Houston, a solo homer, walk-off shot in the 14th inning of a 10-9 win off Brad Peacock that capped a five-run comeback...His second homer of the season was a game-winning, two-run shot at Boston on August 20 that snapped a 3-3, 7th inning deadlock (was his first extra-base hit in 72 at-bats)...Enjoyed his first career walk-off homer, May 27 vs. Houston off Brad Peacock(2nd career HR) that capped a 10-9, 14.0-inning win…The 14-game hit streak was the longest by a rookie Indians batter since Michael Brantley in August/September 2010...Batted .316 (37-for-117) with runners on base over his last stint...Hit .483 (14-for-29) on the first pitch.

Spent most of the season at AA Akron before spending the last month of the regular season in Cleveland after a September 1 promotion ...Spent the season at AA Akron, batting .264 (68/258) with 16 doubles, 1 triple, 2 home runs and 24 RBI in 71 games ...He has also stolen 21 bases in 23 attempts for the RubberDucks (T5th in the Eastern League at the time of his call-up)...He missed two months, May 8-July 13, due to a broken hamate bone in his right hand (surgery) and spent 5 games rehabbing in the Arizona Rookie League in early July. At Akron he batted .356 (26/73) off LHP and hit .298 (34/114) in August with 9 2B, 1 HR, 12 RBI, 17 runs and 9 steals in 28 games over his final month with Akron...The Chula Vista, CA native was Cleveland's sixth round pick (188th overall) in the 2014 First-Year Player Draft and led all of Minor League Baseball with 119 runs scored in 2016 between A Lynchburg and Akron (45 steals were T5th in MiLB)....Entered the season as the ninth-rated prospect in the Indians system according to MLB.com...Named an MiLB.com organization All-Star (OF). Hit a combined .295 (145-491) with 23 doubles, 7 triples, 7 home runs, 44 RBI and 119 runs scored between A Lynchburg and AA Akron...Led all Minor League players in runs scored (13 more than the runner-up) and was tied for fifth with a combined 45 steals in 58 attempts...His .416 combined on-base pct. led all Indians farmhands and his .830 OPS was fourth-best in the system...Led the Carolina League in runs (93) and on-base pct and was second in steals despite being promoted to AA Akron on 7/25...Spent the remainder of the season in Akron, helping them to the Eastern League title...After the season played for Mesa in the Arizona Fall League, hitting .269 (21/78) with 3 2B, 3 HR, 8 RBI and 12 runs in 22 games (.829OPS)...Named to the Top Prospects Team selected by Fall League managers and coaches...Rated by Baseball America as the best defensive outfielder in the Indians organization.

2015

Led the Indians Player Development System with 46 stolen bases...With Lake County, his 83 runs scored were the most by any player in the Midwest League, third-most in the Indians Player Development System, and his 43 stolen bases ranked second in the minors...Spent the last week of the season in Lynchburg...Named Best Defensive Outfielder in the Indians organization by Baseball America entering the 2016 season.
