Began season at the alternate training site in Pittsburgh...Was on the taxi squad for the club’s trip to San Diego and Chicago from 5/2-9...Was activated to the Major League roster on 5/4 when Gregory Polanco was placed on the COVID injured list...Made his Major League debut as a starter in right field and went 0-for-2 with a hit by pitch; left the game after suffering a right-hand contusion on the HBP... Went 0-for-4 in three games with the Pirates before being designated for assignment on 5/11...Cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Indianapolis on 5/15...Joined the Pirates on the taxi squad for the club’s trip to Kansas City from 5/31 to 6/1...Connected for his fourth career grand slam on 6/19 vs. Memphis...Had a season-high three hits, including two home runs, on 8/6 at Iowa...Homered twice again on 9/18 vs. St. Paul...Hit safely in each of his last seven games, going 11-for-29 (.400) with three home runs, a .400 OBP and a 1.090 OPS...Made 68 appearances at third base, eight at first base, five in left field and three in right field while playing with Indianapolis...Led Indianapolis in home runs while finishing second in total bases (148) and third in RBI.
