Was born in Bayamón, Puerto Rico but moved to Springfield, Mass. when he was six months old. His mom, Delsa, and dad Raul, returned to Puerto Rico from Massachusetts to have Isán...Has a 20-year-old brother, Raul Jr, and a 13-year-old sister, Radelis. All the siblings are about seven years apart. Raul currently plays baseball at Wallace State JC in Hanceville, AL...Enjoys hip-hop music. His favorite current artist is Drake...In the past, Díaz has never picked his at-bat (walk-up) music...Díaz makes his offseason home in Florida and loves going to the beach...Also enjoys playing video games in his downtime but also loves spending time with his family.

2022

Joined San Francisco on April 30, 2022, from Miami in exchange for cash considerations...Appeared in 83 games for Triple-A Sacramento and hit .275 with 23 home runs, 61 RBI, 45 walks and 60 runs scored...His 23 home runs were ninth-most in the Pacific Coast League...He posted a .377 OBP, .574 SLG and a .951 OPS on his way to being named a 2022 MiLB Organizational All-Star for the Giants...Placed on the injured list on Aug. 24 with an oblique injury and missed the remainder of the season...Primarily played second base for Sacramento (57 games) but also saw time at shortstop (14 games) and third base (10 games).
