Jacob Hubert Reed…played at The University of Oregon…was selected by the Minnesota Twins in the fifth round of the 2014 Draft...While playing in Rochester, New York while in Minnesota’s minor league system, was honored as the Harmon Killebrew Award winner for his outstanding community service in back-to-back years...Has volunteered with Rochester Regional Hospital, Meals on Wheels and several baseball camps and clinics...Reed on his desire to make an impact in the community: “It’s not about baseball. It really isn’t. It’s about loving and serving the people that you come into contact with, and the great thing about baseball is it gives us players plenty of opportunity to do so...” Is married to Janie who was a first-team All-American outfielder on the Oregon softball team…she holds the Ducks’ career records for hits (309), runs (204), doubles (42) and stolen bases (102)...she won a silver medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo (held in 2021).

Split the season between the New York Mets (five games), Los Angeles Dodgers (five games), and the Baltimore Orioles (eight games) at the Major League level...Garnered a season record of 2-0 with one save and a 7.02 ERA (13 ER/16.2 IP), striking out 13, walking eight, and holding batters to a .258 batting average...Got his first win of the season with the Mets on May 17 vs. St. Louis, giving up just two walks and punching out two in two innings...Recorded his first Major League save on Aug. 30 with the Dodgers vs. the Mets, giving up one hit in one inning...Across 20 Minor League matchups with Triple-A Syracuse, Single-A St. Lucie, and Triple-A Oklahoma City, went 2-0 with a 3.09 ERA (8 ER/23.1 IP) with 26 strikeouts...Claimed off waivers by the Dodgers from the Red Sox on November 18th Gave up no runs in 12 out of 18 appearances…held batters to a .211 batting average at home and .321 on the road…after the All-Star Break, went 1-0 and one save with a 4.35 ERA (5 ER/10.1 IP) in 13 games, striking out seven and walking two.

2021

Made his Major League debut with Los Angeles-NL on July 6 at Miami...Was designated for assignment two weeks later before being claimed by Tampa Bay...One week after that, he was claimed off waivers by the Mets...Hurled 3.0 scoreless innings in his Mets debut against his former club, the Dodgers, on August 15 at Citi Field.

2020

Was a non-roster invitee to Twins Spring Training...Did not get selected to Minnesota’s Player Pool for regular season...Elected free agency, Nov. 2.

2019

Was an invite to Twins spring training, fourth of career...reassigned to minor league camp March 20 and began season with Triple-A Rochester...Spent second full season with the Red Wings and fourth straight season pitching in any amount of games for the Wings...Was the Opening Pitcher in final appearance September 2 vs. Syracuse, allowing two runs on four hits in 2.0 innings pitched...Struck out three-plus batters in 16 of 45 appearances, including six strikeouts in 3.0 innings pitched April 20 at Lehigh Valley...Held right-handed batters to a .229 average and left-handed batters to a .327 average...Led the staff in games (45) and ranked third in strikeouts (92) and innings pitched (75.0)...Set career-highs in strikeouts and strikeouts-per-9.0 innings pitched (11.0)...Triple-A Rochester 2019 Killebrew Award recipient, given annually to a player from each of the Twins affiliates for outstanding community service.

2018

Was an invite to Twins spring training, his third career spring with the Twins...reassigned to minor league camp March 18 and reported to Triple-A Rochester where he spent the entire season ... Pitched in just two games for the Red Wings before being placed on 7-day disabled list on April 17 with right shoulder impingement; reinstated May 10 ... 14 of his final 19 appearances for the Wings were scoreless, posting a 1.16 ERA (31.0 IP, 4 ER) with 14 walks, 36 strikeouts and a .120 opponent batting average (beginning June 22) ... Held left-handed batters to a .192 batting average and right-handed batters to a .213 batting average ... Led the Red Wings with a 1.89 ERA (minimum 40.0 IP)...ranked sixth on the Wings in appearances (30).

2017

Began season on 7-day disabled list with a right lat strain; reinstated June 1. A Pitched in five games for Double-A Chattanooga before being promoted to Triple-A Rochester June 19 ... Went 1-0, 1.80 ERA (20.0 IP, 4 ER) with two saves and a .229 opponent batting average in final 14 appearances from July 20 though end of season. A Held opponents scoreless in 17 of 22 games overall for Red Wings ... Held left-handed hitters to a .186 average at Rochester, compared to right-handers hitting .250.

2016

Spent first season in Twins spring training as non-roster invite...reassigned to minor league camp March 14; began season with Double-A Chattanooga...promoted to Tripled-A Rochester August 13...struck out multiple batters in 23 of 50 games between both levels...posted a 2.00 ERA (27.0 IP, 6 ER) with six walks and 26 strikeouts in final 22 games for the Lookouts and Red Wings from July 3-end of season...combined to go 4-4, 3.57 ERA (70.2 IP, 28 ER) with 24 walks and 72 strikeouts in 50 games between Chattanooga and Rochester...held right-handed hitters to a .217 (33-for-152) batting average and left-handers to a .252 (26-for-103) average...ranked third among Twins minor league relievers in strikeouts (72)...named 28th best prospect in Twins system by Baseball America entering 2017.
