Made his third-straight Opening Day roster, making three starts for the Marlins in April before being optioned to Triple-A New Orleans on 4/25...Made eight starts with New Orleans from 4/28 - 6/3, posting a 3.92 ERA (17 ER, 39.0 IP) in those starts, before landing on the seven-day DL…made one rehab start with the Gulf Coast League Marlins on 7/4 before being reinstated from the seven-day DL on 7/9 and making a start for Single-A Jupiter…transferred after the Jupiter start back to New Orleans where he made two starts before being recalled by Miami for a start on 7/25 vs. PHI, working 5.0 shutout innings that day...Acquired by the Padres on 7/29 from Miami via trade...Spent the remainder of the season with San Diego after being acquired by the Padres, going 0-3 with a 6.03 ERA (25 ER, 37.1 IP) in nine starts...Over his first five starts for the Padres from 8/1 - 8/26 he posted a 2.88 ERA (8 ER, 25.0 IP) with 20 strikeouts against 12 walks, with the Padres 2-3 in those starts…over his final four starts he posted a 12.41 ERA (17 ER, 12.1 IP) from 9/1 - 9/24...Left his start on 9/7 vs. BOS with a strained right hamstring and strained right groin in the fourth inning…his next start came on 9/18 at COL...Left his final start on 9/24 vs. SF after just 1.0 inning pitched with right elbow inflammation...Underwent surgery following the season in October to remove loose bodies from his right elbow.
2015
Completed season with just 13 starts and one relief appearance for Miami, going 2-5 with 4.52 ERA (69.2 ip/35 er). Missed considerable time due to vertigo, and a later reoccurrence of symptoms associated with vertigo...Prior to being placed on 15-day DL on May 18 (retro to May 14), was 1-3 with 4.08 ERA (39.2/18) in seven starts. Made three rehab starts between Triple-A New Orleans and Double-A Jacksonville, with no record and 3.94 ERA (16.0/7) prior to returning from Major League DL on June 24... Made two starts with Marlins following return on June 24 and allowed nine runs in 5.2 innings. Optioned to NOLA on July 5 and made two starts before going on 7-day DL with a reoccurrence of symptoms. Started three games between GCL Marlins and Single-A Jupiter, going 0-2 with 4.85 ERA (13.0/7) before being recalled by Marlins on September 4...Had considerably better numbers at home than on road, going 0-2 with just a 1.38 ERA (32.2/5) in six starts at Marlins Park. In seven road assignments, was 2-3 with 7.64 ERA (33.0/28)...Took loss in season debut, April 11 vs. Tampa Bay, despite allowing just one run in 6.0 innings. Marked first career loss to Rays, previously going 3-0 with 1.17 ERA (23.0/3) in three career starts against TB...Picked up first win and evened record at 1-1 on April 22 at Philadelphia. Allowed one run on four hits (one home run) with no walks and four strikeouts over 6.0 innings. Was one of just two road starts in which he allowed two-or-fewer runs (also Sept. 17 at Washington)...Took second and final home loss on May 3 vs. Philadelphia. Allowed three runs on five hits and a walk while striking out season-best six in 5.0 frames...Made first career relief appearance on June 26 vs. Dodgers, tossing 4.0 innings...Allowed two runs on six hits and three walks (one intentional) with three strikeouts and two wild pitches. Marked third relief appearance of 4.0+ innings by a Marlins reliever this season...From May 3-July 4, went 0-3 with 9.00 ERA (20.0/20) in five games (four starts). Made second-shortest start of career on July 4 against Cubs at Wrigley Field, allowing career-high tying seven runs on four hits and three walks while striking out two in just 1.2 innings. Shortest career start was a 0.1 inning outing on April 18, 2014 at Oakland (3 h, 7 r, 7 er, 4 bb, 2 hr)...Over final five starts of season, went 1-1 with 2.96 ERA, limiting opponents to eight runs in 24.1 innings. Held foes to two-or-fewer runs in four of five starts in that span, including two scoreless efforts: Sept. 11 vs. Washington and Sept. 24 vs. Philadelphia.

Split season between Houston and Miami, combining for 13-11 record and 3.69 ERA (180.1/74) in 30 starts...In 20 starts with Houston, posted 9-7 record with 4.41 ERA (116.1 IP/57 ER). Made 10 starts with Miami, going 4-4 with 2.39 ERA (64.0/17)...Acquired from Houston at the Non-waiver Trade Deadline and made Miami debut on August 1 vs. Cincinnati. From that date on had 13th-best ERA in National League...With victory vs. Atlanta on September 5, became first pitcher in Marlins' history to earn at least four wins with ERA under 2.00 in first six career starts with team, according to Elias. The win also extended winning streak to four games, which tied a career high; lost next start, on Sept. 10 at Milwaukee...Had streak of eight consecutive quality starts snapped in final outing of season. Issued career-high eight walks in 5.0 innings of work in Game 1 of doubleheader at Washington on Sept. 26. The loss also extended losing streak to three games, tying career-long streak...Prior to season finale, had posted a 2.14 bb/9 rate in nine starts (59.0 IP) with Marlins, down from 3.95 mark in 20 starts (116.1 IP) with Houston. Final bb/9 rate with Miami was 3.09...Posted 1.64 ERA (33.0 IP/6 ER) in August, second-best among NL starters behind Madison Bumgarner's 1.57 ERA (46.0/8). Named the Astros Rookie of the Year by the Houston Chapter of the BBWAA...made 10 starts for the Astros, posting a 1.95 ERA (13ER/60IP)...his ERA thru his first 10 career starts is the lowest by an Astros pitcher in their first 10 MLB starts in franchise history...LHP Carlos Hernandez held the previous mark with a 2.05 ERA (14ER/61.1IP) thru his first 10 starts (Aug. 18, 2001-May 15, 2002)...the last MLB pitcher to post a lower ERA thru their first 10 career starts was Shelby Miller (1.57, 11ER/63IP), who did so from Oct. 3, 2012-May 20, 2013...since the date of his debut (July 12), led the American League and ranked fifth in the Majors in ERA (min. 60IP)...ranked immediately ahead of Ubaldo Jimenez (2.15) and Anibal Sanchez (2.20)...was one of three Astros pitchers to make their first MLB start in 2013 (also, Clemens, Oberholtzer)...the Astros finished their season with four rookie starters pitching well since July 12 ... over that time frame, Clemens, Cosart, Oberholtzer and Peacock combined for a 2.70 ERA (63ER/209.2IP) in their 35 starts...allowed just a .220 (46x209) opponent's batting average, including a .173 (22x127) mark against lefties ... recorded most of his outs on ground balls (2.33 GB/FB ratio), which ranked second on the club...fanned just 33 hitters in 60.0 MLB innings compared to his 93 strikeouts in 93.0 innings at Triple A this season...posted a 1.23 ERA (6ER/44IP) and allowed a .184 (27x147) opponent's batting average in seven road starts this season ... since his debut (July 12), ranked second in the Majors in road ERA (A.
