Jaylin Davis #81

Was born in Greensboro, NC, the third-most populous city in North Carolina...Davis attended Northeast Guilford High School in McLeansville, NC. He played college baseball at Appalachian State University...Jaylin was named after basketball player Jalen Rose. When his little brother came along twelve years later, his parents let Jaylin name the new baby. He chose Amari, after Amari Cooper.

2020

Went 2-for-12 (.167) in four games after making his first career Opening Day roster and then was optioned to the Giants’ Alternate Spring Site on July 30 where he spent the remainder of the season.

2019

Acquired by the Giants from Minnesota on July 31 along with RHP Prelander Berrora and RHP Kai-Wei Teng in exchange for RHP Sam Dyson.... Made his Major League debut on September 4 at St. Louis...recorded his first Major League hit in his first at-bat (an infield single)...recorded his first career stolen base on September 8 at Los Angeles-NL and his first RBI on September 9 vs. Pittsburgh.... Hit his first Major League homer on September 25 vs. Colorado, with a walk-off solo shot off RHP DJ Johnson in the bottom of the 9th inning to give the Giants a 2-1 win...became the first Giant to hit a walk-off homer for his first MLB home run since Fran Healy on April 15, 1971 vs. Houston, and the seventh Giant to do so.... Hit .333 (34-for-102) with six doubles, 10 homers, 27 RBI and a 1.105 OPS in 27 games for Triple-A Sac.... Prior to the trade, he hit .331 with 11 doubles, 15 homers, 42 RBI and a 1.112 OPS in 41 games for the Twins triple-A affiliate (Rochester)... began the year in Double-A Pensacola and hit 10 homers in 58 games.... In the minors, Davis combined to hit .306 with 26 doubles, 35 homers, 94 RBI and a .987 OPS (126 games).... Was struck on the left hand by a Yacksell Rios 97-mph fastball and was removed from the game in the 6th inning on September 12 vs. Pittsburgh...X-rays came back negative and was diagnosed with a contusion on his left wrist...missed a week and returned to action on September 19.
