2003
Hit .262 (64-for-244) with 11 HR and 35 RBI in 76 games (48 starts in right field, eight starts in center field and 12 in left field)...In 52 games with the Yankees, hit .305 (46-for-151) with 6HR and 21RBI (32 starts in right field, 12 starts in left field and two in center field)...Hit .194 (18-for-93) with 5HR and 14RBI in 24 games (16 starts in right field, 6 starts in center field, and one at DH) with Cleveland before being traded to the Yankees on 6/25...Had season-high nine-game hitting streak from 4/8-22, batting .308 (12-for-39) with 4HR and 9RBI...On 4/21 (w/ Cleveland) at Chicago, hit two home runs for the fifth time in his career and first time since 9/2/02 (w/ Cleveland at Detroit)...also drove in a season-high four runs...Was placed on the 15-day disabled list from 5/8-6/23 with strained left wrist...Was acquired from the Cleveland Indians with RHP Danny Miceli for a player to be named later on 6/25...Homered in a career-high three straight games twice this season with the Yankees (8/17 at Baltimore and 8/18-19 vs. Kansas City, and 6/30, 7/1 at Baltimore, and 7/4 vs. Boston)...Hit in first eight games with the Yankees, batting .433 (13-for-30) with 3 HR and 5RBI...Was excused from ball club on 8/31 to travel to Mexico for funeral of his aunt (missed two games)...Was acquired from the Cleveland Indians with RHP Danny Miceli for an player to be named later on June 25, 2003. It was a whirlwind year for Garcia after being released by the Indians at the end of spring training after hitting .323 (10-31) in 14 spring games...Was released by the Indians on March 27 and signed a free agent minor league deal with the New York Yankees on April 1 and began the season at AAA Columbus of the International League...Started the season hot in Columbus, hitting .330 (33-100) in April with 2HR & 13 RBI before hitting .168 (17-101) in May...Was hitting .322 (28-87) in 23 June games w/6 HR and 19 RBI before being promoted to New York on June 28...Appeared in 2 games with the Yankees (1PH, 1 start in LF), going 1 for 5 before being designated for assignment on July 3 when Raul Mondesi was acquired from Toronto by the Yankees...Signed a minor league deal with the Indians on July 13 after his release from New York and appeared in 23 games with the Bisons, hitting safely in his last 19 straight contests from July 16 to August 4 before being promoted to Cleveland on August 6...Was red-hot at Buffalo, hitting .396 (36-91) with 7 2B, 2 3B, 3HR and 22 RBI in 23 games (20G in CF, 5G @DH)...Made 1 start in left field on August 6 and switched positions with Matt Lawton the next day and was the clubbs regular right fielder thru the remainder of the season...Was very productive with the Tribe, collecting a major league best 52 RBI in his tenure from August 6th thru the end of the season...Had some big games, collecting a career-high 6RBI on 9/2 at Detroit (2-5, 2HR) and hitting 2 grand slams on August 13 at Tampa Bay (off Sturtze) and on Sept. 5 at Chicago (Porzio)...Now has 3 career grand slams...His 2-homer game on Sept. 2 at Detroit was the fourth of his career...Hit a walk-off game-winning homer on August 24 vs. Seattle in the 9th inning off lefty Doug Creek...Overall he made 46 starts in RF (49G), 2 starts in CF (3G) and 1 start/appearance in leftfield...Cooled off at the end of the year, hitting. 212 (11-52) over the season's final 14 games (3HR, 5RBI)...On the year between AAA Columbus, Buffalo and Cleveland he drove in 123 runs (31 HR)...At AAA w/Buffalo & Columbus he hit a combined .367 (40-109) with RISP and .315 (94-298) off RHP...Between Columbus, Buffalo & Cleveland he drove in 123 runs on the year...Played winter ball in Mexico starting in November...Most RBI from August 6 to end of the season.

Began the year in Detroit with the Tigers, going 3 for 17 (.176) over his first 8 games before being outrighted... to AAA Toledo on April 25...Was suspended 3 games for his part in a benches-clearing brawl with the White...Sox on April 22 and served the suspension from September 1-3 with the Orioles...Was with the Toledo Mudhens from April 25 to June 12, when he was acquired by the Baltimore Orioles for...future considerations and assigned to the AAA Rochester roster...Was with Rochester for the remainder of the...Triple A season before having his contract purchased by the Orioles on September 1...Combined between the two triple A stops he hit .285 (121-425) with 28 HR & 92 RBI...Finished 3rd in the...International League with 92 RBI, 4th with a .551 slugging % and tied for 5th with 28 homers...Was named...to the International League All-Star Team in July...With the Orioles he was 0 for 16 with 6 strikeouts...On the year with Detroit and Baltimore he was a combined 3 for 33 (.111) with 0 extra base hits and 0 RBI (0BB, 10SO)...Made 5 starts in RF and 3 starts at DH on the season and was 0-3 as a pinch-hitter...Appeared in 7 games in RF and 2 games in LF.

1998 Spent most of the 1998 season with the major league Diamondbacks at just 22 years old...Tied for fifth in the NL with eight triples...Was the youngest player to appear in a game for Arizona in the club's inaugural year...Broke camp with the major league club but opened the year in a 9 for 63 skid that led to an option to Triple A Tucson on 4/26...Homered in the D-backsb inaugural game on 3/31 off the Rockies' Jerry DiPoto...Returned to the majors on 5/31 and marked his promotion with a 4-12 effort with a homer and two RBI in the final three games of a series at Colorado, 6/2-4...Posted his first career two-homer game on 9/22 at Colorado...Followed with his first career grand slam the next night and had a career-high five RBI...Enjoyed his best success against left-handed pitching, batting .302 (13-43)...All nine of his homers, however, came off righthanders...Made 84 starts, 83 in right field and one in center... Played just over a month at Triple A Tucson in 1998 after struggling out of the gate with the major league Diamondbacks.

1997 Spent a month of the season with the Dodgers after beginning the year at Triple A...Was recalled by Los Angeles on 6/12...Belted his first career homer on 6/20 at San Francisco off Osvaldo Fernandez...Missed the majority of the seasonbs second half with a left shoulder injury... 1996 Finished the season with the Dodgers after stints at Double A San Antonio and Triple A Albuquerque and pinch hit in one game following a 9/7 recall...Was named the seventh-best major league prospect by Baseball America in 1996...At age 20, he was the youngest player on the Triple A level...Hit .370 in his first 47 at-bats...
