Earned his second career Opening Day roster (the other was 2016) out of spring training and played in a career-high 79 games, setting career highs in doubles (13), triples (two), home runs (seven), RBI (30), walks (28), runs (33) and extra-base hits (22)...Suffered a non-displaced hairline fracture of his left hand after being hit by a pitch on April 11 at Miami...Was on the 10-Day disabled list from April 13-May 27...Drove in 14 runs in August (22 games)...Reached base four times (2B, 1B, 2 BB) on Opening Day, March 29 vs. St. Louis...The last Mets catcher to reach base safely at least four times in an opener was Todd Hundley, who did so on April 26, 1995 when he reached base five times....Set a career high with four RBI on June 24 vs. the Dodgers...Hit his first-career grand slam on August 15 at Baltimore...Also tied his career high with four in RBI in that game...Turned in a career-high four hits in the first game of a doubleheader at Philadelphia on August 16, going 4-4 with a double, triple, three RBI and two walks.

Was with the Mets from April 19-May 25 and August 19 through the remainder of the season...Batted .303 (23-76) with four doubles, three homers, nine RBI and 12 walks in 27 games for the Mets after being recalled on August 19...His three homers matched his career-high (also 2015)...Threw out 6-of-31 potential basestealers (19%)...Worked 1.0 scoreless inning on August 29 at Cincinnati in his second relief appearance of the season...The only other Mets position player to be used as a reliever twice in one season was Matt Franco, who worked in two games in 1999...Also pitched 2.0 innings on April 30 at Washington...Allowed three home runs...Prior to Plawecki, the last Mets position player to pitch was Anthony Recker on June 30, 2013 vs. Washington...Made his first career appearance/start at first base in the second game of a doubleheader on September 25 at Atlanta...
