Is a 2014 graduate of Galileo High School in San Francisco where he played football and baseball ¡ As a senior, he threw a no-hitter against Balboa High School on April 9, 2014, but lost 1-0 when the lone run scored on an error ¡ Set Academic Athletic Association (AAA) records with 3,244 yards passing and 47 touchdowns in his final football season and led Galileo to a city championship ¡ Notable high school alumni include Hall-of-Famers Joe DiMaggio and Tony Lazzeri, who was a part of the 1927 Yankees' "Murderer's Row" ¡ Attended the University of California, Santa Barbara for three years (2015-17) ¡ As a junior in 2017, was named a Collegiate Baseball Pre-Season All-American along with now-teammates Seth Beer (Clemson), J.B. Spent most of the year at the Lake County Alternate Training Site and made his Major League debut on Sept. 10 vs. Kansas City (0.2IP, 3H, 4R/ER, 1BB, 3-run HR to Adalberto Mondesi)...Was with the ML club, Sept. 9-15, and was a member of the "Taxi Squad" in late September...Did make two relief appearances in Spring Training (2.0IP, 2H, 0R, 3SO) as a Minor League camp player.
2019
Posted a combined season ERA of 2.28 and seven saves in three stops along each level of the Tribe's Minor League system (47.1IP, 28H, 12ER, 69SO, .169 avg)...Began the year at Single-A Lynchburg and after 9.1 innings over 8 relief outings he was elevated to AA Akron on 5/2...Did not allow an earned run over his first 18 outings, covering 22.0 innings of work and allowed just one ER in his first 23 games (27.1IP)...Promoted to AAA Columbus on 7/31...Struck out five batters over 2.0IP outing on August 23 vs. Toledo...Combined on the year left-handed batters hit .186 (11-for-59) and righties hit .159 (17-for-107)...Was on the Injured List in Akron, July 16-29, with a blister issue on left hand.
