Logan resides in Surprise, Ariz...He was featured in an article in The Athletic in March 2022 that detailed his journey from a clubbie in Surprise, Ariz. in high school to a non-roster invitee in back-to-back years (2022-23)...Transferred to Dixie State (Utah) for the 2017 season, where he was named one of 17 finalists for the Josh Willingham National MVP Award as a junior after he hit .276 with a Pac West-leading 18 doubles, 10 HR with a Dixie State single-season record 72 RBI...Attended Northwestern Oklahoma State in 2015-16, where he was named NOSU Freshman Athlete of the Year after batting .340…also named NOSU Sophomore Athlete of the Year after batting .321...Graduated from Valley Vista High School (Ariz.) in 2014, where he was a two-time First Team All-Region selection and hit .398 as a senior...Valley Vista High School sits directly across N. In Game 2 of a doubleheader on Sept. 12, he became the eighth player to make his Majors debut with the Royals in 2023...he started at catcher and went 2-for-4 with a hit-by-pitch and a two-run single in his first at-bat off Touki Toussaint... He became just the third player in franchise history to record at least two hits and two RBI in his Majors debut, following Kyle Isbel on April 1, 2021 vs. Texas and Mark Quinn on Sept. 14, 1999 vs. Anaheim... In his debut, Porter became the fourth player in Royals history to record a two-run hit in his first career plate appearance, following Joel Peralta on May 20, 2007 at Colorado, Al Cowens on April 6, 1974 vs. Minnesota and Keith Marshall on April 7, 1973 at California...Caught all 9.0 innings in his Majors debut, and in tandem with Jordan Lyles, they retired the first 12 batters of the game…he became the second player in Royals history to start in his MLB debut behind the plate and reach safely three times, joining Jorge Pedre, who had three walks on Sept. 7, 1991... Replaced Salvador Perez behind the plate in the top of the 5th on Sept. 16 vs. Houston and hit his first career home run in the 8th off Joel Kuhnel, with whom he was teammates on a club baseball team as a teenager in Arizona... Logan reached base safely in eight of his 10 games with a plate appearance, including 6 hits, 5 walks and 1 hit-by-pitch for a .324 on-base pct... In 110 games with Omaha, 29 of his 88 hits (33%) went for extra bases, including 16 doubles and 13 home runs, with 48 RBI and 60 walks.

2022

Porter led Royals full-season qualifiers in 2022 with a .442 on-base percentage in 473 plate appearances at Double-A and Triple-A and finished second with a .301 average and .918 OPS...his OPS ranked sixth among all Minor League primary catchers (min. 350 at-bats)...Defensively, he played 454.0 innings at first base and made one error (.998 fielding percentage), and 306.2 innings behind the plate, making one error (.997 fielding percentage)...He batted .301 for both Northwest Arkansas and Omaha and was one of only three qualifiers to finish with a season on-base percentage above .440 at the Triple-A and Double-A levels, joining Esteury Ruiz (.447) and Edouard Julien (.441). 

2021

Named a High-A Central postseason All-Star at catcher after spending the season with Quad Cities, playing in 77 games and posting an .819 OPS after batting .241 (62-for-257) with 10 doubles, one triple, 14 home runs, 45 RBI and 45 walks...Started 43 of 44 games he played at catcher while also playing in 23 games at first base and one at third, finishing with a .992 fielding percentage between all three positions...Was one of five players in Minor League Baseball to play in less than 80 games and still record 45-or-more walks and RBI this season...Went 2-for-4 with a walk and RBI in the High-A Central clinching Game 5 vs. Cedar Rapids.
