His 45 games were 5th-most on the team and his 66 K's were the 2nd highest among relievers for the Redbirds. Pitched for Licey in the Dominican Winter League. Went 1-2 with one save in eight games, 8.0 IP. Allowed just one earned run (3 total)in his appearances.

2011

Played at four different levels during the 2011 season including High-A Palm Beach, Springfield (AA), Memphis (AAA) and St. Louis. Started 24 of 25 games in the minors while making three relief appearances in St. Louis. ... Was recalled from Springfield to St. Louis on 6/2 and made his Major League debut that night vs. SF. Started eight games for Clinton (A) of the Midwest League during an injury-plagued season, yet still managed nearly a strikeout per inning...was on the disabled list from 6/13-22 with a strained right calf muscle and again from 7/7-8/14 with a strained left oblique muscle...made one rehab start with the Arizona Summer League Mariners on 6/21.

2008

Started 22 games (25 app.) for Savannah (A) of the South Atlantic League, before a promotion to make one start for St. Lucie (A) of the Florida State League 8/29 vs. BRE in the second game of a doubleheader...made 10 quality starts including five straight from 6/12-7/4...threw a career high 140.2 innings combined with 82 strikeouts and a 5-12 record...led the SAL with 25 wild pitches...began the season in the bullpen before moving to a starting role full time on 4/20...struck out a career-high nine batters through six innings 5/12 vs. ASH...earned first win of the season in his only career complete game shutout 5/22 at AUG, allowing just three hits and fanning two...was traded to the Seattle Mariners on 12/11 in a three-team, 12-player deal which sent J.J.
