Made the Opening Day roster for the fourth time in his career and for the third straight season with the Angels... Earned his only decision of the season in the 7-6 Angels win on 9/5 vs HOU... In a 7-6 loss at Sea on 8/5 allowed a season-high three runs while recording just two outs...his ERA in his other 20 apps of the season was 1.77... Beginning with his next appearance, on 8/7 at TEX, posted a 1.69 ERA in his last 15 apps of the season... On 12/7 was traded to the Reds, with a player to be named, for closer RHP Raisel Iglesias and cash...the trade was completed on 12/10, when the Reds received minor league IF Leonardo Rivas.

In third season with Angels, pitched to a career-best 3.99 ERA (67.2 IP - 30 ER) across 51 games, including seven starts as an Opener... During 14-game stretch from May 29 - July 5, was 2-1 with a 0.89 ERA (20.1 IP - 2 ER), 27 strikeouts and two walks... Served three-game suspension from Major League Baseball Aug. 14-16 after hitting Houston's Jake Marisnick with a pitch July 16...Prior to serving suspension, missed 19 games on injured list with a viral infection...
