Sledge turned in one of the top performances in the history of the Edmonton Trappers and was named
Expos Minor League Player of the Year...was also named Trappers Player of the Year and Player of the Month for April,
May and August...won the Trappers Triple Crown, batting .324 with 22 home runs and 92 RBI...the same total also procured
Montreal's Minor League Triple Crown...led Edmonton in most offensive categories...led the Pacific Coast League in runs
(95) and total bases (271)...also ranked among the P.C.L. Top 10 in the following categories: hits (2nd with 161), slugging
percentage (2nd at .545), batting (3rd at .324), triples (3rd with 9) and RBI (3rd with 92)...was named Pacific Coast League
Player of the Week for the period ending Sept. 2 after batting .474 (9-for-19) with three home runs and nine RBI in
five games to help the Trappers secure a post-season berth...posted career-high totals in nearly every major offensive

TRAPPER RECORD: Tied a club record with 13 total bases at Salt Lake, Aug. 25...doubled, tripled, homered twice,

Was selected to the All-Star team as a member of the Lancaster JetHawks, which team established a franchise-record victory total (89) under manager Mark Parent... Played seven games for the Midwest League's A-Wisconsin club... Joined the Expos following the 2000 season as part of an earlier deal which sent C Chris Widger to the Mariners.

Sledge entered professional baseball in 1999, when he was drafted by Seattle in the eighth round of the June draft... Began his career with A-Everett in the Northwest League... Helped the Aquasox to a 41-35 record in his only year with the club.
