Gentry resides in Arlington, Tenn., where he was named a Rawlings-Perfect Game Honorable Mention All-American after his senior season in 2017 at Arlington High School...Attended the University of Alabama from 2019-20, where he hit .429 (24-for-56) in 17 games during the shortened season, and ended his two-year career in Tuscaloosa with 17 home runs in just 266 at-bats...Led the Crimson Tide in 2019 in batting average (.310), hits (65), home runs (13), RBI (42), slugging percentage (.552) and total bases (116) as a sophomore...Attended Walters State Community College in 2018, where he led the Senators to the finals of the Junior College Baseball World Series.

Tyler was recalled from Triple-A Omaha on Aug. 25, 2024 and remained with the Royals until Sept. 1¡He made his Major League debut for Kansas City on Aug. 25 vs. Philadelphia, when he pinch hit for MJ Melendez in the eighth inning and flied out...After making his Majors debut, Gentry started a pair of games for the Royals on Aug. 26 (G1) in Cleveland and Aug. 30 at Houston, going a combined 0-for-4 before being optioned back to Triple-A...He was one of five players to make their Major League debut for the Royals in 2024, along with Matt Sauer (March 31), Will Klein (April 28), CJ Alexander (June 24) and Walter Pennington (July 5)...Spent the majority of the 2024 season with Omaha, where he slashed .251/.338/.422 (108-for-431) with 59 RBI and 41 extra-base hits, including 24 doubles, one triple and 16 home runs...Was named Omaha¡¯s Player of the Month for July after slashing .400/.477/.627 (30-for-75) with seven XBH, 12 RBI and 13 runs scored across 21 games...He hit safely in 18 of his 21 games played that month, including a season-high 12 straight games from July 13-30, during which he batted .477 (21-for-44).
2023
Ranked third among Royals farmhands in 2023 with 71 RBI and ranked 4th with 16 HR...Gentry spent the entire season with Triple-A Omaha and led the Storm Chasers in home runs (16), RBI (71), hits (120), doubles (28), extra-base hits (46), total bases (200), runs scored (69) and walks (81)...In 24 games through April, he hit .198 (18-for-91) with three HR and 14 RBI, but from May 1 through season¡¯s end, he hit .266 (102-for-384) with 13 HR and 57 RBI.
2022
After being promoted from High-A Quad Cities on June 14, he was named the 2022 Northwest Arkansas Player of the Year...Earned postseason honors as a Baseball America Second Team All-Star and a Double-A All-Star, as well as a MiLB.com Organization All-Star in the outfield...With the Naturals, he appeared in 73 games where he slashed .321/.417/.555 (88-for-274) with 32 extra-base hits, 16 home runs and 63 RBI...His .326 batting average combined between Quad Cities and Northwest Arkansas ranked first in the Royals organization and his 86 RBI between both levels also ranked first...He led the Naturals with nine outfield assists...Played for Surprise in the Arizona Fall League, hitting two home runs and one double in 10 games.

Tyler Gentry appeared in just 44 games in 2021 with High-A Quad Cities, batting .259 (38-for-147) with six home runs and 28 RBI before his season was cut short due to a right lower leg injury.
