He and his wife, Chabeli Adriana, have one daughter named Valerie. When he¡¯s not playing baseball he enjoys being with his family, (daughter, wife and parents). He enjoys spending as much time as possible with them. Hit .348 as an 18-year-old during the 2014-15 season in Serie Nacional, Cuba¡¯s top baseball league. D¨ªaz was the favorite to win Rookie of the Year that season, but he defected to the U.S. before he could be given the award. Held a showcase for MLB teams in the Dominican Republic before signing with the Dodgers. Received $15.5 million signing bonus from the Dodgers as a 19-year-old in 2015.

Spent the entire season in Double-A Tulsa, appearing in 94 games with Tulsa and hit .278 with 16 homers and 60 RBI. Batted .353 with three homers through his first 21 games of the year. Struggled from mid-June through the end of July, hitting .177 with a .595 OPS in 36 games. Picked it back up in August, slashing .390/.488/.720 (1.208 OPS) with nine homers and 30 RBI in 26 games en route to being named the Texas League¡¯s Player of the Month. Had a .664 OPS in 11 September games with one homer.
2022
