The Baltimore Orioles welcome Kate Skidmore as chief human resources officer
The Baltimore Orioles today announced that KATE SKIDMORE will join the organization as the Chief Human Resources Officer, leading all human capital and talent strategies across the organization.

Skidmore joins the Orioles after serving as the Human Resources Business Partner, Vice President at Capital One since January 2019. In her role there, she led HR for US Card, Customer Services and Strategy for over 16,000 employees, overseeing and directing the prioritization and delivery of HR solutions to the business, including people strategy, culture and belonging, organizational efficiency, workforce planning, and succession management.
Prior to joining Capital One, she was the Vice President of Human Resources for the National Basketball Association, where she consulted with NBA, G League, and WNBA teams on best practices to create inclusive and diverse workplaces through recruiting, retaining, developing, and deploying talent. Skidmore also served as the Director of Human Resources for the National Football League Players Association from 2011-14, a role in which she was responsible for creating a high-performing HR operations function in the areas of employee relations, talent and performance development, talent acquisition, total rewards, and engagement for employees of the NFLPA, NFL Players, and The Trust.
A native of Woodsville, N.H., Skidmore received her bachelor's degree from Brown University (RI) and her Master of Professional Studies degree in Human Resources from Georgetown University (DC).
