CHICAGO ¨C The Chicago Cubs will host the Wrigley Field home opener Friday, April 4, at 1:20 p.m. CT against the San Diego Padres after officially kicking off the 2025 regular season in Tokyo, Japan. Before returning to Wrigley Field, the Cubs will take on the Arizona Diamondbacks March 27-30 and Athletics March 31-April 2. Single game tickets for the home opener and first homestand are available for fans to purchase.
For the home opener, fans can expect traditional pregame festivities including an on-field flag presentation by Cubs Season Ticket Holders as well as a USAF C-130 Hercules flyover by the 182nd Airlift Wing of the Illinois Air National Guard. Chicago native and musical artist Alleece Baker will return to Wrigley Field to sing ¡°God Bless America¡± and John Vincent will sing the national anthem. Cubs Hall of Famers will throw out the ceremonial first pitch and sing the seventh-inning stretch.
To welcome the players back to Wrigley Field, all fans are encouraged to line up along the blue carpet outside the Toyota Highlander Lot on Waveland Ave from 8:30-9:30 a.m. CT and cheer on the team as they make their way to the clubhouse.
Additionally, before heading to a game this season, fans are reminded that gates will open 90 minutes prior to first pitch for most games with two-hour gates for Opening Day, Saturday games and special occasions. Bag restrictions are still in place with only bags smaller than 16 x 16 x 8 inches in size being permitted inside the ballpark. Backpacks are not permitted.
New at Wrigley Field:
The Yard, the new outdoor rental space located in the Budweiser Bleachers above the batter's eye in center field, will officially open for the home opener, providing ticket holders with a more intimate, backyard vibe with high-top seating, fully stocked coolers with unlimited beer, seltzer, wine and nonalcoholic drinks and a ballpark meal for each guest.
The Gordon Flesch Company is now the Official Print Solutions Partner of the Cubs and Wrigley Field with naming rights to the W Club. The W Club powered by Gordon Flesch Company is located down the third base line at Wrigley Field.
The new Blues Alternate uniform presented by motorola razr will make its major league debut Saturday, April 5. The new uniform pays tribute to the team¡¯s history and Chicago¡¯s contribution to the electric blues movement that shaped music worldwide. To celebrate the occasion, the Cubs are opening a retail experience at Gallagher Way for the 2025 regular season called ¡°Landmark Records¡± that pays homage to Wrigley Field¡¯s federal landmark status and is a nod to the neighborhood record shops found across Chicago. Inside Landmark Records, Cubs fans can find the new Blues Alternate jersey, hats and merchandise as well as a limited run of music-inspired merchandise that celebrates Wrigley Field¡¯s status as a world-class music venue. On select dates throughout the regular season, Cubs fans can also attend various live performances at Landmark Records.
In the offseason, the Bleacher Suite, the largest private suite inside the Friendly Confines, received a makeover with upgraded seating and a new, refreshed look. This updated suite is perfect for socializing while watching the game and includes unlimited beer, wine and spirits along with enhanced food offerings. Fans in the Left Field Porch rental space will also notice a new, expanded layout with all-inclusive beer, wine and nonalcoholic drinks as well as classic ballpark fare.
Three new self-service markets have been added to Wrigley Field¡¯s concourse featuring Amazon¡¯s Just Walk Out technology. Located near sections 108, 115 and 119, fans looking for an on-the-go bite or sip can simply enter with a credit card, select their items for purchase and exit without checking out. ¡°Sheffield Market,¡± located near section 133, was added to the ballpark last season and will remain as an additional self-service market option for fans near right field.
Food and Beverage Updates:
The 2025 food and beverage menu for Wrigley Field celebrates Chicago¡¯s rich culinary scene and vibrant blend of cultures with a new rotating menu at the Marquee Classics concession stand located near section 117. Crafted with hospitality partner Levy, the rotating menu will feature 50 dishes over the course of the regular season with four new items per homestand.
The initial menu, only available during the first homestand from April 4-9, will include:
- Jibarito Sandwich: A Chicago favorite with a twist featuring roast beef, garlic aioli, lettuce, tomato, fried plantains and garlic butter.
- Kimchi Burger: Plant-based burger, kimchi, hoisin aioli, broccoli slaw on a toasted sesame bun.
- Sticky Pork Bao: Sticky pork bao buns, Napa cabbage, shredded carrots, pickled Fresno peppers and cilantro.
- Chili Lime Fries: Crispy fries, Taj¨ªn seasoning, cotija cheese and corn crema.
After the first homestand, fans can look forward to short rib sliders, puffy tacos and homemade chicken and waffles, among other dishes. Head back to Marquee Classics throughout the regular season to taste what¡¯s new.
Juan Valdez coffee and McCain SureCrisp fries are also available at the ballpark alongside beloved staples such as Garrett Popcorn Shops, Home Run Inn Pizza, Hot Doug¡¯s and Vienna Beef.
Promotional Items and Theme Games:
This season¡¯s promotional calendar includes five new bobbleheads for the first 10,000 fans to enter the ballpark. Cubs players Michael Busch, Shota Imanaga and Pete Crow-Armstrong will have bobbleheads as well as Cubs legend Greg Maddux and beloved mascot Clark the Cub.
Additionally, gate giveaways such as the Opening Day magnet schedule presented by INABA Churu, Dansby Swanson flow headband presented by Hefty, Blues Alternate Giveaway Jersey and more are available for fans this season. Fan-favorite #BudFridays are also back and feature an assortment of vintage-inspired Cubs items.
Two new Theme Games have also been added to the promotional calendar. SpongeBob SquarePants Day will take place April 20 and will include unique gameday experiences plus a special-edition SpongeBob SquarePants Cubs bucket hat. Hello Kitty? Night will take place June 18 and will include pregame activations and a limited-edition Hello Kitty? Cubs bobblehead. Fans can also secure the VIP offer which includes a special-edition Hello Kitty? Cubs jacket in addition to the bobblehead. These Theme Games join Camp Cubs, Oktoberfest, Pride, Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month and Hispanic and Latino Heritage Month. Fans can take advantage of several ticket offers this season including School Night Special and CUBS U. School Night Special is available for select weeknight home games played before Memorial Day or after Labor Day and includes one Terrace Reserved Outfield Corner ticket, one regular hot dog and one nonalcoholic beverage, redeemable at the Left Field Classics (located near section 105) and Right Field Classics (located near section 128) concession stands.
College students 18 years of age or older can also opt in to receive last-minute ticket offers via text message from the Cubs through the CUBS U program.
