Chicago White Sox Charities announces Diamond Impact Awards, providing multiple $125,000 gifts to local non-profits
Inaugural Awards Program Accepting Letters of Intent from Chicagoland Non-Profits Supporting Cancer Care Networks, Child Abuse Prevention, Health and Wellness and Youth Education
CHICAGO ¨C Chicago White Sox Charities (CWSC) announced the launch of its first-ever 2025 Diamond Impact Awards program, which commemorates the team¡¯s 125-year anniversary by gifting multiple $125,000 one-time grants to non-profit and social service organizations across Chicagoland.
Seeking to build upon programming that benefits underrepresented communities, CWSC is now accepting letters of intent from non-profit organizations with project-specific focuses that align with its four core areas of giving: cancer support services, child abuse prevention, health and wellness and youth education.
Organizations interested in applying for this transformational funding can review eligibility criteria and submission guidelines at whitesox.com/diamondawards.
¡°The 2025 Diamond Impact Awards allow us to deepen our commitment to Chicagoland through grassroots partnerships that share our mission of building a stronger, healthier community,¡± explains Christine O¡¯Reilly, CWSC executive director and White Sox vice president of community relations. ¡°These grants are designed to have an immediate, lasting effect on the programs they support, offering a direct impact to people who are truly the boots on the ground and at the forefront of positive social impact in our very own communities around Chicagoland.¡±
An internal Diamond Impact Awards committee will evaluate applications on the following criteria:
Project-Specific Focus: Funds must be directed toward a defined project or initiative that creates measurable, lasting improvements within the organization¡¯s community. General operational support or unrestricted funding is not eligible.
Tangible Outcomes: Each grant will support a project that leads to a tangible, visible outcome. Examples include facility upgrades, mobile clinic creation or space enhancement for program expansion, allowing the Chicago White Sox to build a meaningful partnership with the organization.
Community-Ready Initiatives: Projects funded through the Diamond Impact Awards should be structured to provide clear, actionable results that also can be branded or visibly supported by the Chicago White Sox within one year of receiving the grant.
Non-profits interested in applying are required to submit their letter of intent by Wednesday, December 11. Selected organizations will receive formal grant applications in mid-December, with final grant announcements taking place at the CWSC signature fundraising event, Beyond the Diamond, in May 2025.
