LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the New York Yankees tonight at Yankee Stadium by a score of 7-6, to claim their eighth World Series championship in franchise history. The 2024 title is the club¡¯s seventh since moving to Los Angeles and their first five-game World Series win since 1988 over Oakland. The final out of the game was recorded when surprise Dodger reliever Walker Buehler struck out Alex Verdugo to win it.

The World Series Champions are thrilled to announce they will commemorate their title on Friday, November 1 with a parade in Downtown Los Angeles and a special ticketed celebration at Dodger Stadium, both of which will be televised in their entirety on Spectrum SportsNet LA, local television channels and AM 570. Due to logistics, traffic and timing, fans will not be able to attend both events.

Dodger first baseman Freddie Freeman was voted the unanimous World Series MVP after hitting .300 (6-for-20) with four home runs, including the dramatic 10th-inning walk-off grand slam to give Los Angeles the victory in Game 1 at Dodger Stadium. Freeman hit home runs in a World Series record six consecutive games going back to 2021 and was the first player in history to hit home runs in each of the first four games of the World Series. Tonight, he went 1-for-4 with a run scored and a walk, while delivering a clutch two-run single during the Dodgers¡¯ thrilling five-run fifth inning that set the stage for their epic come-from-behind victory. Despite playing in just five games, Freeman¡¯s 12 RBI tied him with Bobby Richardson (1960) for the most in a single World Series.

The Dodgers beat San Diego, 3-2, in the NLDS and the New York Mets, 4-2, in the NLCS before dispatching the Yankees in five to finish with an 11-5 record in the Postseason.

On Friday, the parade is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. at Gloria Molina Grand Park on Spring Street in front of City Hall. Mayor Karen Bass will officially kick off the parade, which will then continue on a 45-minute route from 1st Street to Grand Avenue to 5th Street, culminating at the intersection of 5th and Flower Street, with members of the Dodgers traveling atop double-decker buses. Fans wishing to attend the parade are emphatically encouraged to take public transportation due to significant street closures and limited public parking.

Following the parade, a special ticketed event at Dodger Stadium will begin at approximately 12:15 p.m. For fans attending, parking gates will open at 8:30 a.m. and stadium entry gates will open at 9 a.m.. Food and merchandise will be available for purchase. In-stadium entertainment, including coverage of the parade on DodgerVision scoreboards, will precede the arrival of the team. All Dodger Stadium guidelines and rules will apply to this event, including the reminder not to bring in signs, bags or any other items that aren¡¯t permitted under our policies.

Television coverage of all of Friday¡¯s events will begin at 9:30 a.m. on SportsNet LA and local channels CBS 2, NBC 4, KTLA 5, ABC 7, KCAL 9 and Fox 11. Radio coverage will air on AM 570.

A portion of the proceeds from the stadium event will be donated to the Los Angeles Dodger Foundation, which is tackling the most pressing problems facing Los Angeles with a mission to improve education, health care, homelessness and social justice for all Angelenos.
