FLUSHING, N.Y., January 23, 2025 ¨C The New York Mets today announced that they have signed LHP A.J. Minter to a two-year contract, with a player opt out after the 2025 season.
Minter, 31, has posted a 3.28 ERA (127 ER/348.2 IP) with 36 saves, 114 holds and 422 strikeouts over parts of eight years with the Atlanta Braves.

Since 2022, Minter is one of 11 pitchers in the majors to post an ERA below 3.00 and a strikeout percentage over 30 percent (min. 150 appearances). Additionally, he has a 1.98 second-half ERA, the seventh-lowest since 2022 (min. 60 outings).
The 6-0, 215-pounder has held left-handed batters to a .220 (100-454) batting average and right-handers to a .232 (194-835) mark during his career.
Minter has appeared in 60 or more games in three of the last four years. He was 5-4 with a 2.62 ERA (10 ER/34.1 IP) in 39 games with Atlanta in 2024 and had a 3.76 ERA (27 earned runs/64.2 innings) with 10 saves, 21 holds and 82 strikeouts in 70 games with the Braves in 2023.
Minter ranks third in the majors with 99 holds since the start of the 2019 season.
He has a 2.87 ERA (53 ER/166.1 IP) in 178 games during his career vs. the National League East. Minter is 3-1 with a 2.88 ERA (eight earned runs/25.0 innings) in 20 career Postseason games.
