The show starts the weekend celebrations and will take place from The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on Thursday, November 14th on MLB Network at 8:00 p.m. ET co-hosted by Greg Amsinger, Siera Santos, Lauren Shehadi, Harold Reynolds and Chris Young, and simulcast on MLB.com, MLB.TV and the MLB app. Following the awards show will be a special VIP after-party for players and guests that includes a musical performance by award-winning rapper and songwriter Machine Gun Kelly. Fans account for 50% of the voting for the All-MLB Team, with a panel of experts handling the other 50%. Fans and panelists vote for their choices at catcher, first base, second base, third base, shortstop, three outfielders (without regard for left/center/right) and designated hitter, along with five starting pitchers and two relief pitchers for each of the first and second teams. All choices are based on the 2024 regular season, without regard for American League or National League affiliation.
MLB introduced its first-ever All-MLB Team awards in 2019 to give a more comprehensive honor that covered the full breadth of a big league regular season, complementing the All-Star Game selections that are awarded just past the season's halfway point. There are first and second teams, and voters are asked only to consider performance during the regular season when casting their ballots. For a list of previous All-MLB Team honorees, click here.
The Hank Aaron Awards were introduced in 1999 to honor the 25th Anniversary of Aaron breaking Babe Ruth¡¯s all-time home run record, and, at that time, was the first major award introduced by Major League Baseball in more than 25 years.
The Relievers of the Year will each receive a special trophy that models the likeness of Rivera and Hoffman, respectively, pitching during their Hall of Fame careers. The Rivera and Hoffman Awards replaced MLB¡¯s ¡°Delivery Man of the Year Award,¡± which was presented to one winner in all of Major League Baseball from 2005-2013. These awards continue a longstanding baseball tradition of honoring the game¡¯s top relief pitchers.
Now in its 51st season, the Outstanding Designated Hitter Award was renamed by Commissioner Allan H. (Bud) Selig in a September 2004 ceremony in Seattle in honor of the retiring Martinez. Ballots are cast by club beat writers, broadcasters and public relations departments with nominees including all players with a minimum of 100 at-bats as a designated hitter.
The Comeback Player of the Year Awards are officially sanctioned by Major League Baseball and have been presented annually since 2005 to one player in each League who has re-emerged on the field during the season. The winners were determined following a vote by the 30 Club beat reporters from MLB.com, the official website of Major League Baseball.
Due to the exclusive nature of All-MLB Weekend, inventory is extremely limited, so fans are encouraged to call for reservations today at 866-928-7117.
