BOSTON, MA ¨C The Boston Red Sox today announced plans for Marathon Weekend presented by Bank of America and the club¡¯s traditional Patriots¡¯ Day game presented by Coca-Cola, along with a full week of family-friendly programming at Fenway Park during April school vacation. In addition to commemorative ceremonies tied to the 2013 Boston Marathon, the week will feature community initiatives, special recognitions, and a range of interactive experiences for fans of all ages, including Kids Run the Bases presented by L.L.Bean and new early morning ballpark tours.
Patriots¡¯ Day Game April 21
The Red Sox will present their traditional Patriots¡¯ Day game, presented by Coca-Cola, on Monday, April 21 at 11:10 a.m. against the Chicago White Sox. In keeping with a tradition that began in 2013, Red Sox players will wear home jerseys featuring ¡°Boston¡± on the front in recognition of the 12-year anniversary of the 2013 Boston Marathon. The American flag will be draped over the left-field wall as the National Anthem is performed by Boston native Lisa Bello, an acclaimed R&B singer and songwriter.
The first 7,500 fans in the ballpark will receive a Patriots¡¯ Day puffy vest, presented by Coca-Cola.
Tony Conigliaro Award Presentation
On Saturday, April 19, former Red Sox pitcher Cam Booser will be honored during pregame ceremonies as the recipient of the Tony Conigliaro Award. The award is presented annually to a Major League Baseball player who has overcome adversity through spirit, determination, and courage - qualities that defined Tony Conigliaro both on and off the field. Booser was recently featured in the Netflix documentary The Clubhouse: A Year with the Boston Red Sox, which chronicled the team¡¯s 2024 season and gave fans a deeper look into the personal and professional lives of Major League Baseball players.
On-Field Photo Day & Achilles Freedom Wounded Warriors Recognition
Fans attending the Sunday, April 20, game against the White Sox will have the opportunity to step onto the warning track at Fenway Park before the game to interact and take photos with Red Sox players and coaches. This event is weather permitting.
Prior to the 1:35 p.m. first pitch, members of the Achilles Freedom Team¡¯s Wounded Warriors will be recognized in pregame ceremonies that will include a performance by the Boston Lyric Opera.
One Boston Day Service Project
In Honor of One Boston Day, on Tuesday, April 22, the club will participate in a full-day refurbishment of Boston Centers for Youth & Families¡¯ Hyde Park Community Center. Joined by members of the Hyde Park community, Red Sox front office staff, along with Wally and his sister, Tessie, will paint, build outdoor garden boxes, provide landscaping, create a family room, and refurbish the teen center. The project was planned in partnership with BCYF and Rebuilding Together Boston. Additional information for this event will be available next week.
Kids Run the Bases, Presented by L.L.Bean
On Thursday, April 24, kids will have a chance to run the bases immediately following the 1:35 p.m. Red Sox-Mariners game. The opportunity for Kids to Run the Bases is presented by L.L.Bean and is weather permitting.
Early Start Times and Family 4 Pax for April School Vacation Week
To better accommodate families during April school vacation week, the Red Sox will host four day games and two early evening games with 6:45 p.m. start times. As part of the April 22¨C24 series against the Seattle Mariners, fans can take advantage of the Family 4 Pax offer, courtesy of Aramark, which includes four tickets, four Fenway Franks, and four fountain drinks starting at $99. The week will also feature a special giveaway on April 24: a Wally or Tessie Squishy Pillow, presented by Mike¡¯s Amazing.
