Clearwater Arrival for Phillies Truck Day presented by Citizens
Spring has arrived in Clearwater, Florida! Earlier this morning, the Phillies equipment truck - comprised of three 28-foot trailers - completed its 1,058-mile, eight-state journey from Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, and made its grand entrance at BayCare Ballpark, the team¡¯s spring training facility.
Welcoming the truck to the ballpark was Clearwater Mayor Bruce Rector and Phinley, the Jawesome Clearwater Threshers mascot, along with a team of Clearwater staff who helped unload all the gear needed for Spring Training, including 2,400 baseballs, 1,200 bats, 300 batting gloves and much more.
The big arrival comes just five days before the first Phillies pitchers and catchers workout on Wednesday, February 12. The full squad will report on Monday, February 17.
