Brian Nicholas Serven...Graduated from Palm Desert High School in his hometown of Palm Desert, Calif., in 2013...Was a three-year letterman in both baseball and basketball...Named CIF Div. 4 Player of the Year in 2021, Two-time First Team All-CIF in both 2012 and 2013, and two-time First Team DUL in 2012 and 2013...Spent three years at Arizona State University, batting .280 (162-for-578) in 162 combined games while recording 33 doubles, a pair of triples, 13 homers and 97 RBI...Became the third true freshman in Arizona State history to start the majority of their freshman and sophomore seasons at catcher...Named First Team All-Pac-12 and Second-Team Pac-12 All-Academic in 2015 as a sophomore, as well as Pac-12 All-Conference First Team as a junior in 2016...Played for the Bourne Braves of the Cape Cod League in 2014 and 2015, batting .186 (18-for-97) across 97 games combined with three doubles, a homer and 12 RBI...His younger brother Jonathan played baseball at Long Beach State.

Spent the season with Triple-A Albuquerque where he hit .250 (63-for-252) with 12 doubles, two triples, 16 home runs and 38 RBI in 73 games... His 16 home runs and .504 slugging percentage were both career highs... Led the Isotopes with 65 starts at catcher... Attended his third Major League Spring Training as a non-roster invitee, going 6-for-17 with two doubles, one triple and three RBI in 15 games... Both of his triples came in the same game on Aug. 6 vs. Oklahoma City, his first multi-triple game... Homered off Clayton Kershaw on Sept. 7 at Oklahoma City.

2020

Named to Colorado’s 2020 player pool and spent the 60-game shortened season at the alternate training site in Denver... Had three at-bats across five Spring Training games (one strikeout).

2019

Spent his first season with Double-A Hartford and batted .202 (49-for-242) with nine home runs and 30 RBI... Attended his first Spring Training and went 2-for-2 with two runs and one strikeout in seven games... Played for Salt River in the Arizona Fall League, going 13-for-46 (.283) with four runs scored, three doubles, one triple, two home runs and nine RBI.
