Jan. 24: Angels sign INF J.D. Davis to Minor League deal
The Angels have made an effort to improve their infield depth and added Davis to the mix on Friday, signing him to a Minor League deal, a source told MLB.com's Mark Feinsand. Davis, 31, hit .218 with four homers and six RBIs in 46 games last year, but he is a career .257/.340/.425 hitter in parts of eight seasons in the Majors. He's mostly spent time at third base, but he can handle first base and left field. Davis will come to Spring Training to compete for a roster spot along with fellow veteran Tim Anderson, who also signed a Minor League deal this week.
Jan. 22: Angels reportedly agree to terms with SS Tim Anderson on Minor League deal
With shortstop Zach Neto expected to miss the start of the season after undergoing right shoulder surgery in early November, the Angels improved their middle infield depth by reportedly signing the two-time All-Star to a Minor League deal on Wednesday. USA Today's Bob Nightengale was the first to report the signing. The Angels have yet to confirm the deal.
Anderson, an All-Star with the White Sox in 2021 and ¡¯22, is a bounce-back candidate under manager Ron Washington, who is considered an infield guru. He struggled in 2023, his final year in Chicago, hitting .245 with one homer in 123 games, then hit .214 with nine RBIs in 65 games for the Marlins last year. It's a low-risk move because it's a Minor League deal, and Anderson will head to Major League camp competing for a roster spot.
Jan. 21: Angels sign lefty Jos¨¦ Quijada to one-year deal with option for '26
The Angels avoided arbitration with Quijada on Tuesday, signing him to a one-year deal worth $1.075 million with a $3.75 million club option for 2026. Quijada, 29, posted a 3.26 ERA with 24 strikeouts and 17 walks in 19 1/3 innings last year. It was his first season back after undergoing Tommy John surgery in '23.
Los Angeles has yet to agree to terms with outfielder Mickey Moniak and infielder Luis Rengifo, but they have exchanged arbitration figures. Rengifo filed for $5.95 million and the Angels filed at $5.8 million. Moniak filed at $2 million and the club countered at $1.5 million.

RHP Robert Stephenson (torn ulnar collateral ligament)
Expected return: 2025
The Angels announced on April 18 that Stephenson would undergo season-ending elbow surgery, and he had Tommy John surgery with a brace inserted in his elbow on May 1. Stephenson said he believes it'll be a 12-month recovery but could take as long as 18 months. He was transferred to the 60-day injured list on April 21.
Stephenson was removed from his first rehab appearance on April 13 after facing just one batter and feeling something in his right elbow. Pitching for Triple-A Salt Lake, the right-hander opened up the bottom of the seventh inning on the mound but threw only four pitches, all balls, before signaling to the dugout. After speaking briefly to the trainer and a coach, Stephenson departed. (Last updated: May 3)
