Injury: Left elbow inflammation
IL date: April 13 (15-day IL)
Expected return: TBD
Status: Will not throw for about five days. Will then ramp up with easy throwing for about five days. Within 10 days, KC will see where Long is. (updated: April 14)
RHP Kyle Wright
Injury: Mild right hamstring strain/right shoulder
IL date: March 24 (15-day IL)
Expected return: May
Status: Missed 2024 season (right shoulder surgery) before suffering hamstring strain Feb 18. Threw in first game April 10 with two innings in extended spring training. (updated: April 12)
RHP Hunter Harvey
Injury: Right teres major strain
IL date: April 11 (15-day IL, retroactive to April 8)
Expected return: May
Status: Felt discomfort while warming up in 'pen April 10. MRI revealed Grade 1 right teres major strain. Considered mild but will be re-evaluated follow a week of rehab and treatment. (updated: April 11) More >>
OF Dairon Blanco
Injury: Right Achilles tendinopathy
IL date: March 31 (10-day IL)
Expected return: Late April
Status: Received PRP injection on April 4 after Achilles flared up on March 30. Returned to activity on April 10 and played catch, but the Royals will see how he feels before making the next steps. (updated: April 10)
RHP Alec Marsh
Injury: Right shoulder soreness
IL date: March 24 (15-day IL)
Expected return: May
Status: Minor setback when he felt soreness in right shoulder during extended spring training outing April 3. Has been shut down for 10 days, with plans for re-evaluation April 14. (updated: April 8) More >>
C Blake Mitchell (No. 2 prospect)
Injury: Broken right hamate bone
Expected return: April
Status: Had surgery on Feb. 26 with a four- to six-week recovery timeline. Continued rehab in Arizona. Expected to get first game action in extended spring training at the end of the week of April 7. (updated April 8) More >>
RHP James McArthur
Injury: Right elbow surgery
IL date: March 24 (15-day IL)
Expected return: June
Status: Underwent offseason surgery that put two screws in his elbow to stabilize an olecranon fracture. Rehabbing in Kansas City and making good progress, but not throwing yet. (updated April 4)
