For a Padres prospect working his way through the full-season affiliates in order, the journey starts in the proverbial backyard of Petco Park, then carries him far afield to Indiana before he heads to a couple stops in Texas and then makes his way across the Southwest to San Diego. While it's not a farm system that easily lends itself to a road trip for a vacationing fan, Friars rooters will want to add each spot to their bucket lists.

Single-A: Lake Elsinore Storm, The Diamond
Not 75 miles from the Padres' ballpark is a gem of the California League, where fans watch some of the newest San Diego prospects try to make a name for themselves in the shadow of the striking Temescal Mountains. High-A: Fort Wayne TinCaps, Parkview Field
With a gorgeous skyline view, the TinCaps' home in the Midwest League is a terrific showcase for one of the nation's best regions for Minor League Baseball. Publicly owned, Parkview Field features a gorgeous concourse, elevated "Treetops" seating in right field reminiscent of the rooftop seats at Wrigley Field and a state-of-the-art videoboard. Double-A: San Antonio Missions, Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium
Known as "The Wolff," the home of the Missions features mission-inspired architecture and a spacious grassy berm fit for the loveliest of ballpark picnics down the left-field line, as well as an external concourse replete with concessions stands and merch shops. Triple-A: El Paso Chihuahuas, Southwest University Park
Built in 2014, this is one of the premier ballparks in Minor League Baseball. The Chihuahuas' home is only park in affiliated baseball with a view clear into another country (Ju¨¢rez, Mexico, is visible from places in the stadium), but there's also plenty to see within the yard.
