MLB Network to exclusively air the 2022 National Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony this Sunday, July 24
July 21, 2022 ¨CWith more than 50 Hall of Famers expected to attend, MLB Network will exclusively broadcast the National Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony featuring 2022 members Jim Kaat, Tony Oliva and David Ortiz, and the late Bud Fowler, Gil Hodges, Minnie Mi?oso and Buck O¡¯Neil this Sunday, July 24, in Cooperstown, New York. MLB Network host Greg Amsinger will be joined by 2018 Ford C. Frick Award winner Bob Costas, 2004 BBWAA Career Excellence Award winner Peter Gammons, reporter Jon Morosi, analyst Harold Reynolds and insider Tom Verducci for the coverage beginning live at 11 a.m. ET, followed by the Induction Ceremony at 1:30 p.m. ET. MLB Network has exclusively televised the Induction Ceremony every year since its launch in 2009. As part of Sunday¡¯s coverage, MLB Network will celebrate the 2022 class with several new features, including:
- Exclusive interviews with Jim Kaat, Tony Oliva and David Ortiz from Cooperstown, hosted by Bob Costas;
- Current and former players discuss Ortiz in different montages, including Hall of Famers Vladimir Guerrero Sr., Ken Griffey Jr. and Derek Jeter, plus Ronald Acu?a Jr., Mookie Betts, Albert Pujols and Mike Trout;
- Hall of Famer Pedro Mart¨ªnez on his 2004 World Series champion teammate David Ortiz;
- Hall of Famer Rod Carew on his longtime Minnesota Twins teammate Jim Kaat;
- Fellow Hall of Fame inductee Jim Kaat on his teammate Tony Oliva;
- 1969 World Series champion Ron Swoboda on Gil Hodges, the manager of the ¡°Miracle Mets¡±;
- Negro League Baseball Museum President Bob Kendrick on Buck O¡¯Neil and Bud Fowler;
- Adrian Burgos, notable historian for Latinos in baseball, on his dear friend Minnie Mi?oso.
- And a look at the life and legacy of Buck O¡¯Neil, voiced by filmmaker Ken Burns and produced by Ken Burns UNUM, Burns¡¯ digital history platform.
MLB Network will re-air the Induction Ceremony on Sunday, July 24, at 8 p.m. ET. Hosted by MLB Network¡¯s Brian Kenny, the ceremony will be simulcast on MLB.com and available via the MLB app.
