MLB Network to showcase current & future stars during MLB All-Star week in Cleveland
July 2, 2019 ¨C MLB Network heads to Cleveland next week with a roster of Hall of Famers, former All-Stars and World Series champions for its three-day coverage of the 2019 MLB All-Star Game presented by Mastercard.
MLB Network¡¯s lineup of personalities during MLB All-Star Week will include Hall of Famer and former Cleveland Indians All-Star Jim Thome, Hall of Famer and eight-time All-Star Pedro Martinez, three-time All-Star Sean Casey, former NL All-Star Cliff Floyd, two-time All-Star Al Leiter, 2004 World Series champion Kevin Millar, former AL All-Star Carlos Pe?a, two-time All-Star Harold Reynolds, Hall of Fame award-winning writer Peter Gammons, and hosts Greg Amsinger, Scott Braun, Fran Charles, Brian Kenny, Chris Rose, Christopher Russo and Heidi Watney.
Leading up to both the Midsummer Classic and the T-Mobile Home Run Derby, MLB Network will produce extensive content in and around Progressive Field, featuring interviews with All-Star players and managers in and around the ballpark across special All-Star editions of High Heat with Christopher Russo, Intentional Talk and MLB Tonight on both Monday, July 8 and Tuesday, July 9 (complete schedule information is below).
MLB Network will also debut a special feature looking back 20 years at the 1999 All-Star Game and the All-Century Team. Narrated by 1999 All-Star Game announcer and FOX Sports broadcaster Joe Buck, the piece includes new interviews with 1999 All-Star Game MVP Pedro Martinez, All-Century catcher and Hall of Famer Carlton Fisk, and 1999 American League All-Star manager and Hall of Famer Joe Torre.
MLB Network¡¯s live on-site programming starts with the exclusive prime time telecast of the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game on Sunday, July 7 at 7:00 p.m. ET. The annual showcase of the top Minor League prospects will be called by MLB Network¡¯s Greg Amsinger, Harold Reynolds, Heidi Watney and MLB Pipeline¡¯s Jim Callis. MLB Network will also exclusively televise the 32nd annual Triple-A All-Star Game on Wednesday, July 10 live at 9:00 p.m. ET at Southwest University Park, home of the El Paso Chihuahuas, with Scott Braun, Bill Ripken, Jim Callis and Kelly Nash on the call.
MLB Network will give fans unprecedented one-on-one access to members of its on-air lineup during All-Star Week with special live editions of #SandlotToTheShow, the social media-generated segment that offers youth baseball and softball players constructive and personal feedback and instruction from former Major Leaguers. Young fans can come out to PLAY BALL PARK at the Huntington Convention Center in Cleveland for in-person hitting, pitching and fielding feedback from MLB Network¡¯s Sean Casey, Cliff Floyd, Al Leiter, Kevin Millar and Harold Reynolds.
