Brewers Sign Right-handed Pitcher Elvin Rodr¨ªguez
MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Brewers have signed right-handed pitcher Elvin Rodr¨ªguez to a one-year contract with a club option for 2026. To make room on the 40-man roster, right-handed pitcher JB Bukauskas was designated for assignment. The announcement was made by Senior Vice President and General Manager Matt Arnold.

Rodr¨ªguez, 26, pitched last season with the Tokyo Yakult Swallows in the Central League of Nippon Professional Baseball, where he went 1-1 with a 1.80 ERA and 1 save in 32 games (1 start) while posting a 1.16 WHIP. He went to Japan in July 2023 after pitching parts of two seasons in the Major Leagues with Detroit (7 games/5 starts in 2022) and Tampa Bay (1 game in 2023).
The native of San Cristobal in the Dominican Republic originally signed with Los Angeles-AL on July 4, 2014 as a non-drafted free agent. He was traded by the Angels to the Tigers on September 15, 2017 as the player to be named in the deal for outfielder Justin Upton. Rodr¨ªguez joined Tampa Bay via free agency on January 11, 2023
