About The Parrish Charitable Foundation¡¯s Fellowship Support:
Prominent businessman Roland Parrish continues his philanthropic and change-making mission in partnership with the Texas Rangers Foundation with the announcement of the Charley Pride Fellowship Class of 2023. The Parrish Charitable Foundation's four-year, $250,000 commitment will offer students a chance to work in the Texas Rangers front office. Each year through 2024, one of the 10-week paid internships, named to honor the late country music legend, American Icon, and Texas treasure, will be earmarked for a student enrolled in a Historically Black College or University (HBCU).
This partnership will help aid the Texas Rangers organization and Major League Baseball (MLB) with its goal to increase minority representation in the front office. ¡°Not only was Mr. Pride near and dear to me,¡± said Parrish, who owns nearly 30 McDonalds throughout North Texas, ¡°I also know that inclusion and diversity were very important to Mr. Pride,¡± he said. Pride was a trailblazer as a Country Music Artist, integrating a genre of music that historically does not have many people of color.
