Executive Vice President and General Manager
Brandon Gomes enters his eighth season with the Dodger organization and first as Executive Vice President and General Manager, after being appointed to the post on Jan. 18, 2022. Gomes, 37, becomes the 12th General Manager in Los Angeles Dodgers history. He originally joined the Dodgers prior to the 2017 season as the organizationĄ¯s Pitching Performance Coordinator before serving as the clubĄ¯s Director of Player Development in 2018 and its Vice President and Assistant General Manager from 2019-21.
In his new role, Gomes will focus on the Major League club and work closely with Friedman, as he has the last four years since being promoted to Director, Player Development in December 2017.
Gomes enjoyed a five-year Major League career, all spent with the Tampa Bay Rays (2011-15), going 11-12 while posting one save and a 4.20 ERA in 173 games, all out of the bullpen. He was originally selected by the Padres in the 17th round of the 2007 First-Year Player draft out of Tulane University, where he double majored in finance and legal studies.
A native of Fall River, Massachusetts, Gomes was a two-time All-State selection, the 2002 Massachusetts Gatorade High School Player of the Year and a member of the National Honor Society at Durfee High School.
He and his wife, Blair, live in Los Angeles with their two children.
