Vice President, Player Development
Will Rhymes enters his 10th year with the Dodgers and second as Vice President, Player Development. In his role, Rhymes oversees the minor league system, staffing and staff development, MiLB roster construction and management while collaborating across departments to support player acquisition and maximization efforts. He joined the Dodgers as a Pro Scout in 2016, was promoted to Assistant Director, Player Development in 2018 and was then named Director, Player Development in 2019 prior to his latest promotion.
Prior to his time with the Dodgers, Slater graduated from the University of California, Berkeley and then worked with the San Diego Padres in their pro scouting department (remove this part mentioning Alex Slater).
Rhymes earned a B.S. in Biology/Pre-med from the College of William and Mary in 2005 and was drafted by the Detroit Tigers that same year. An infielder, he made his Major League debut for the Tigers in 2010 and retired in 2014 after parts of 10 pro seasons with Detroit, Tampa Bay and Washington.
