Full name is William Hall, III...graduated from Nettleton (Miss.) High School in 1998...served as a special playoff analyst on ESPN's Cold Pizza following the 2006 season...he appeared in an episode of The Young and the Restless in 2007 with three other Brewers teammates...he took part in a youth program in December 2007, escorting children from Milwaukee's Beckum-Stapleton Little League on a day trip to Kansas City to visit the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum...he earned the Michael Harrison Award for Community Service, presented by the Brewers, in both 2004 and 2006...he was the Brewers' 2006 nominee for the Roberto Clemente Award and received the Brewers 2006 Good Guy Award from the Milwaukee chapter of the BBWAA...he has participated in activities to benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the RBI program.

2011

Split the season between the Houston and San Francisco organizations, combining to bat .211 (39-for-185) with 9 doubles, 2HR and 14RBI in 62 games... h started 40 games at 2B for the Astros, and hit .224 (33-for-147) before being released on 6/3...h signed by the Giants on 6/11 where he appeared in just 16 games (.158, 6-for-38)...left game on 7/7 after suffering an injury to his lower left leg when San Diego's Jason Bartlett slid into second base on a steal attempt... was placed on 15-day disabled list on 7/8 with a laceration to his lower left leg (needed seven stitches to close the gash)...was reinstated from the D.L. on 7/28 and was designated for assignment...was outrighted to Triple-A Fresno on 8/2 where he hit .274 (31-for-113) in 31 games over the rest of the year.
