Went 0-5 with a 5.36 ERA and .817 opponents OPS in 22 games, including 11 starts, in his first year with the Giants in a season shortened due to two stints on the injured list. Allowed more home runs (20) than walks (16) ¡ among pitchers with 81.0 or more innings pitched, he averaged the eighth fewest walks per nine innings in the majors (1.62) but the 11th most home runs (2.02). Had the highest opponents batting average of his career (.287) and the second highest ERA, opponents on-base percentage (.320), slugging percentage (.497) and OPS. It was the first time in his eight-year career he did not record a win and the only time he pitched fewer than 22 games was when he had just five in the pandemic-shortened 2020 season.
