Attended Cal-Berkeley…Was First-Team All-Pac 12 and a semifinalist for the Buster Posey Award as a junior in 2019 after hitting .338/.419/.619 (67-198) with 15 home runs and 57 RBI...Was teammates with current White Sox first baseman Andrew Vaughn and Darren Baker, son of Dusty Baker...Graduated in 2016 from Vista (Calif.) High School, where he was a First-Team All-Avocado League selection as a junior and senior...Also played three years of water polo...His older brother Kellen played catcher at UC-San Diego and currently is the mental skills coach for the Seattle Mariners.

2023

Appeared in 24 games (23 starts) with the White Sox after being acquired from Houston on 7/28 in exchange for RHP Kendall Graveman...Sox pitchers recorded a 5.69 ERA (118 ER/186.2 IC) when he was behind the plate...Threw out 24.0 percent (6-25) of attempted base stealers...Was recalled from Class AAA Charlotte on 8/24 and made his White Sox debut that night vs. Oakland, going 0-4 with a run scored...Drew a pair of walks on 8/25 vs. the Athletics...Hit his first Major League home run on 9/5 at Kansas City, a three-run shot off Brady Singer in the second inning, to end an 0-25 drought over his first nine games with the Sox...Also marked his only multi-hit effort of the season (2-4)...Threw out both attempted base stealers on 9/5 vs. Detroit...Went 1-3 with a walk and run scored on 9/5 at the Royals before going 2-33 (.061) over his final 13 games of the season...Combined to hit .278/.325/.386 (93-334) with 19 doubles, five homers, 36 RBI, 39 runs scored and 20 walks over 82 games between Class AAA Sugar Land and Class AAA Charlotte...Began the season with Sugar Land, where he appeared in 68 games...Batted .348/.383/.528 (31-89) with 10 doubles, two home runs, 13 RBI and 20 runs scored over 21 games in May...Went 6-7 with two doubles, two RBI and four runs scored on 5/7 at Albuquerque...Collected hits in each of his first five at-bats and hit a RBI double in the ninth to record the first six-hit game in Sugar Land history...Was placed on the seven-day injured list on 7/7 with a strained left oblique...Was on the injured list at the time he was acquired by the White Sox...Was assigned to Charlotte and reinstated from the injured list on 8/2...Recorded three straight multi-hit efforts from 8/8-10 vs. Gwinnett...Was recalled by the Sox on 8/24, where he spent the rest of the season.

2022

Spent the majority of his season at Triple A Sugar Land, hitting .238 (96x404) with 20 doubles, 25 homers, 76 RBI, 12 stolen bases and a .790 OPS in 104 games...Had a month-long stint in the Majors from July 1-Aug. 1, serving as the Astros backup catcher following an injury to C Jason Castro...optioned back to Triple A after the Astros acquired C Christian Vázquez at the trading deadline...While in the Majors, started seven games at catcher, hitting .160 (4x25) with two doubles and four RBI... had his best MLB game on July 10 at OAK, going 3x4 with a double and three RBI...recorded his first career hit and RBI with a fifth-inning single off LHP Cole Irvin...while in the Majors, caught five starts by RHP Jake Odorizzi and two by RHP Cristian Javier...After his option, had a huge month of August, hitting .288 (23x80) with 10 homers and 26 RBI in 21 games...followed that up by hitting five homers in 19 games in September...Was not on a Postseason roster for Houston, but did travel with the team as part of the Taxi Squad.

2021

Played his first full minor league season in 2021, advancing three levels, from Class A Asheville to Double a Corpus Christi to Triple-A Sugar Land... combined to hit .277 (91x329) with 18 doubles, 11 homers, 45 RBI and a .778 OPS in 88 games...named the Double-A Central Offensive Player of the Week on June 27 after hitting four homers with eight RBI during the week...following the season, played for Glendale in the Arizona Fall League and was named an AFL Rising Star after hitting .258 (16x62) with two doubles, a homer and six RBI in 17 games.

2020

Did not play in an official game in 2020 due to the pandemic-shortened season...returned to the field for Houston's Instructional Camp in October in West Palm Beach.

2019

Spent his first professional season in 2019 with Tri-City after getting drafted by the Astros...batted .268 (60x224) with a .730 OPS (.359OBP/.371SLG) in 64 games.
