Fan safety is a top priority of Major League Baseball. The league works closely with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to ensure that clubs have the most current and effective safety programs in place.

Q: What can fans expect at Oracle Park gates?

A: Fans will walk through an Evolv or Magnetometer unit before their tickets are scanned. If the device detects something, the fan will be checked with a handheld wand, and there will be further security follow up, if needed. Approved bags are subject to search.

Q. What do I need to remove from my pockets before walking through the Magnetometer?

A. We will ask fans to remove all metal objects, including keys, coins and cell phones from their pockets before walking through a Magnetometer.

Q: What is the bag policy at Oracle Park?

A: To allow for an expedited entry experience, backpacks (including clear backpacks) are not permitted. Accommodations are made for diaper bags, medical bags and guests with accessible needs. Otherwise this policy is strictly enforced and exceptions will not be made. Other bags, that do not exceed 16" x 16" x 8" in size, are permitted, except hard-sided coolers. All bags are subject to inspection. Fans are encouraged to arrive early and to allow additional time to enter the ballpark.

Q: How long will it take to enter the ballpark?

A: We make every effort to ensure this security enhancement doesn't slow down the process of getting into the ballpark. Since we are significantly reducing the need to use handheld wands, the Evolv and Magnetometer units actually help speed up the entry process.

Q: Do I have to pass through an Evolv or Magnetometer unit?

A: Fans who don't want to pass through an Evolv or Magnetometer unit will have the option of entering through a separate gate where they will be checked with a handheld wand. However, we hope our fans will see that the Evolv or Magnetometer units are the quickest, easiest, least obtrusive and most secure method.

Q: What happens if I have a medical device that sets off the Evolv or Magnetometer units?

A: Today's security technology has evolved to the point where certain personal effects and conditions can be accounted for and eliminated as alarm triggers. Should the situation present, fans can be subject to security follow up including screening with a handheld wand.

Q: Can I bring a stroller or wheelchair through the Evolv or Magnetometer units?

A: Fans with strollers or wheelchairs will enter through a barrier-free gate and will be checked with a handheld wand. Once inside the park, strollers can be stored underneath your seat or at the Guest Services Office on the Promenade Level, behind Homeplate. Storage is limited so we encourage fans to bring small, foldable strollers.
