Amy Tovar serves as Senior Vice President & General Counsel for the San Francisco Giants, providing counsel to all departments within the organization. Entering her ninth season, she handles a wide range of legal matters involving business transactions, corporate governance, government affairs, litigation, intellectual property, real estate, baseball operations, and other initiatives. She is a member of the Giants¡¯ DE&I Council.
Prior to joining the Giants, Tovar served in the Obama Administration at the Department of Transportation as Associate General Counsel; worked as a litigator at Munger, Tolles & Olson in San Francisco; and clerked on the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit in Chicago. She sits on the board of directors of the Lawyers¡¯ Committee for Civil Rights of the San Francisco Bay Area and teaches sports law at Stanford Law School. She is a founding investor in the professional women¡¯s soccer team Bay FC.
A Peninsula native, Tovar attended Stanford University and Stanford Law School, and now lives in Burlingame with her husband, Ben, and children, Jack and Carolina.
