As of July 12, 2024, Steve joins the San Francisco Giants as Senior Vice President, Partnerships. He will be responsible for managing our Partnership Department including all aspects of our corporate partnership sales, activations and strategy business.
In his most recent role as the Executive Vice President, Sales at the Pac-12 Conference, Steve was responsible for driving Pac-12 Network revenue across advertising, corporate partnerships, digital, branded content and other assets for 17 conference championships with men¡¯s football and basketball being the largest events. He led a team of five sales executives and was a member of the Pac-12 Conference Leadership Team.
Steve¡¯s responsibilities also included leading the direction of six employees who managed and serviced Pac-12 Partners/Sponsors and a team of four who managed the affiliate/distribution partners of Pac-12 programming in the U.S. and internationally.
Steve previously worked as a Senior Vice President for Endeavor (parent company of IMG/WME and ran the San Francisco office. Steve led and managed the Visa Inc. Global Account (largest corporate client at Endeavor) which included a team of 36 professionals working in SF, LA, NYC, Paris, Moscow, Miami, Sao Paulo, Dubai and Singapore. In 2018, Steve led separate teams that garnered rave reviews for developing and executing Visa¡¯s sponsorship plans on-site during the Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea and FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Prior to rejoining Endeavor in early 2015, Steve held the position of Chief Global Sales/Partnership Officer) for the Women¡¯s Tennis Association (WTA) based in St. Petersburg, FL. For two years, Steve managed a global sales and sponsorship team and was responsible for signing new sponsors and servicing existing ones.
Before the WTA, Steve worked at IMG for 20 years including time when Mark McCormack (Founder of IMG) ran the company. In his career at IMG, Steve executed numerous events, sold sponsorship & player endorsements, and, consulted for a number of major companies including Wells Fargo, Accenture, Hyundai, DHL, McDonald¡¯s, Chevron, among others.
Steve enjoys being a guest lecture and talking to college students about the sports/entertainment industry at Stanford GSB, CAL, Penn, Oregon, Washington University in St. Louis, USF, and St. Mary¡¯s College.
He is an Advisory Board Member of three organizations: Scrum Technology Ventures, the Sponsorship Marketing Associations (SMA) and Campus Ink.
In 2021, Steve was recognized as one of the Top 50 Diverse Leaders in Sports by the Racial Justice Institute.
Steve was a Liberal Studies major with an emphasis in Math/Economics/Anthropology at UCSB.
Steve currently resides in Moraga, CA with his wife, Maia, and dog Cali. In his free time, Steve enjoys family time (3 children), fishing, running, pickleball, corn hole and visiting national parks.
