RBI Legacy Scholars: We are proud to support student athletes who excel both in the classroom and on the field. Through our Marlins Nike RBI program, we award two RBI Legacy Scholarships to incoming senior high school athletes. The 2023 recipients are Nicole Marte and Kevin Martinez!
Empowerment
Through our empowerment programs, we provide access and opportunity to our youth through college scholarships, leadership development opportunities, and educational resources in the tri country area.
Miami Marlins Scholars
Miami Marlins Scholars are need-based academic scholarships that are awarded annually in three key categories:
Jackie Robinson Legacy Scholars: The Jackie Robinson Foundation and the Miami Marlins Foundation committed to awarding an annual scholarship in perpetuity to a South Florida student that demonstrates Jackie Robinson¡¯s nine values in 2020. Natalia Wilson, our first awardee, is in her Senior year at Howard University majoring in Political Science with a minor in communications. After completing her studies in the Spring of 2024, she intends to enroll in law school. Natalia's long-term goal is to pursue a career as a US Senator as well as a Supreme Court Justice.
First Generation Scholars: Scholarships are award to students who are the first in their family to attend college. Through multiple endowments, First Generation scholarships have been awarded to students at Florida International University (FIU), 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project alum attending FIU, and Miami-Dade College.
Slugger Schoolhouse presented by PNC Bank
The Miami Marlins Foundation Slugger Schoolhouse program presented by PNC Bank brings together year-round resources from the Miami Marlins, MLB, and our partners to schools in our loanDepot park neighborhood.
Each school year, the Miami Marlins Foundation coordinates quarterly initiatives with the students including education, food drives, empowerment, and exercise programs. Participating schools include Lenora B. Smith Elementary, Poinciana Park Elementary, Kensington Park Elementary, and Alpha Charter of Excellence School.
Back to School Distribution
The Miami Marlins Foundation, in partnership with The Kiwanis Club of Little Havana, provides over 10,000 students with school supplies in select Miami-Dade and Palm Beach County elementary schools to get them ready for a year of learning!
