BOSTON, MA ¨C The Red Sox will open their 125th home season, their 114th at Fenway Park on Friday, April 4, against the St. Louis Cardinals. The home opener will mark the beginning of a month-long series of activations at the ballpark and throughout Boston, including community events, fan experiences, theme nights, and new food and beverage offerings to kick off the 2025 season.
Fenway Park Home Opener April 4
Pregame ceremonies for the April 4 home opener will welcome members of the 1975 team to mark the 50th anniversary of their AL Championship win, and remember Red Sox Hall of Famer Luis Tiant, who passed away October 8, 2024, at the age of 83. Fans are encouraged to be in their seats by 1:30 p.m. to enjoy the ceremonies preceding the 2:10 p.m. game against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Before the game, the two teams will be introduced along the base lines, with the colors presented by the 1st Battalion and 181st Infantry Regiment of the Massachusetts National Guard, the 66th Air Base Group out of Hanscom Air Force Base, and members of the 1st Coast Guard District. The National Anthem will be performed by the Boston Arts Academy "Treble Allstars,¡± and punctuated by a fly-over by two F-35¡¯s flown by the 134th Fighter Squadron, Green Mountain Boys of the Vermont Air National Guard and one KC-46 from the New Hampshire Air National Guard¡¯s 157th Air Refueling Wing.
Live coverage begins at 12:00 p.m. ET on NESN and NESN 360, featuring a special two-hour pregame show with full coverage of the on-field ceremony. Dave O¡¯Brien and Lou Merloni will be in the booth, with Jahmai Webster reporting from the field. In-studio coverage will be led by longtime host Tom Caron¡ªcelebrating his 30th year at NESN¡ªalongside Hall of Famer Jim Rice and 2013 World Series Champion Will Middlebrooks. Fans can stream the game live on NESN 360 by logging in through their TV provider or subscribing directly at NESN360.com. WEEI¡¯s live coverage of Opening Day will begin at 1:10 p.m. Will Flemming and Will Middlebrooks will be in the booth with Joe Weil leading the pregame coverage. Fenway Park gates will open two hours before the game for all fans on April 4 (12:10 p.m.), and 1? hours prior to first pitch for all other regular season games. Fans are encouraged to take public transportation to Fenway Park and should check the MBTA¡¯s website for the latest service schedules.
40,000 Hats Distributed to Boston Public Schools Students April 7
In partnership with JetBlue and the City of Boston, current Red Sox players and coaching staff will join Mayor Michelle Wu, Superintendent Mary Skipper, Red Sox President and CEO Sam Kennedy, and Red Sox Partner and Foundation Board Member Linda Henry at Gardner Pilot Academy in Boston at 10:30 a.m. to distribute the first of 40,000 Red Sox hats to Boston Public Schools students. Red Sox hats will be delivered to students and teachers at all Kindergarten through 8th grade Boston Public Schools. The city-wide hat donation has been taking place annually since 2017 and is part of a commitment by the Red Sox and JetBlue to engage with the Boston community each year for the duration of their partnership.
Little League Opening Day Celebrated at Fenway Park April 12
Hundreds of Little Leaguers from across Massachusetts will visit Fenway Park from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. for a morning of baseball activities including a chance to walk the warning track, take photos in the dugouts, and play catch in the outfield. Free concessions will be provided by Red Sox concessionaire Aramark.
Kids Run the Bases Twice in April, Presented by L.L.Bean
Kids will have two chances to run the bases in the month of April. The first, after the 4:10 p.m. game on Saturday, April 5, against the Cardinals, and the second after the 1:35 p.m. game on Thursday, April 24, against Mariners, which coincides with school vacation week. The opportunity for Kids to Run the Bases is presented by L.L.Bean. This event is weather permitting.
On-Field Photo Day April 20
Fans attending the Sunday, April 20, game against the White Sox will have the opportunity to step onto the warning track at Fenway Park before the game to interact and take photos with Red Sox players and coaches. Gates will open early to allow access for this event, which is weather permitting. Additional timing and entry details will be announced closer to the date at redsox.com/promos. This event is weather permitting.
Three Gate Giveaways at Fenway Park in April
The month of April at Fenway Park will include three gate giveaways for the first 7,500 fans entering the ballpark, including a Duran All-Star Game MVP Bobblehead on April 7, a Patriots¡¯ Day Puffy Vest, presented by Coca-Cola, on April 21, and Wally or Tessie Squishy Pillow, presented by Mike¡¯s Amazing, on April 24.
April Theme Nights at Fenway Park
The Red Sox will host five theme nights in April, offering fans unique ballpark experiences tied to pop culture, local sports, and beloved characters. Each night includes themed elements throughout the game, with opportunities for exclusive merchandise and in-game programming.

New Concession Items for 2025
For the 2025 season, Fenway Park concessionaire Aramark is introducing a range of new food and beverage options, with several tied to specific locations around the ballpark. Fans visiting the Kids Concourse, Gate E Concessions, or Truly Terrace can now find Krispy Krunchy Chicken tenders and sandwiches, while the new Cowboy Up! Burger¡ªtopped with brisket, bacon, onion rings, and BBQ sauce¡ªis available at Homeplate Concessions stand and Truly Terrace. The Sam Deck will serve a grilled chicken sandwich with pimento cheese and sweet-and-spicy coleslaw on a pretzel roll.
New on the Coca-Cola Deck, ICEE frozen beverages will be offered in rotating flavors including Coca-Cola, cherry, and blue raspberry. Homeplate Concessions area will also debut the Fenway Soup Shack, serving a selection of popular soups including clam chowder, chicken noodle, and tomato veggie soups in bread bowls, and the PIG MAC sandwich ¨C featuring mac and cheese, pulled pork, and bacon strips on sourdough. Fans in the Aura Pavilion or at Homeplate Concessions can try Green Monster Fries¡ªa footlong serving of Cavendish Farms French fries loaded with nacho cheese, chili, sour cream, and jalape?os.
The Ketel One Third Base Deck behind Grandstand 30¨C31 will feature a Kayem Pineapple Bacon Sausage topped with coleslaw and mango habanero sauce. A gluten-free turkey sub with Cabot Creamery Swiss cheese will be available at the gluten-friendly stand across from the Visitor¡¯s clubhouse. At the Centerfield Bleacher Concessions, the Bleacher Bowls stand that opened last season will return, and pork carnitas street tacos with mango salsa and an elote salad made with red pepper, jalape?o, and cotija cheese will be added to the menu.
Additional new items available include a customizable Cabot Creamery grilled cheese sandwiches on sourdough bread and a variety of Chinese-American dumplings made with local ingredients. Both items can be found at the concession carts on Jersey Street. A new giant slice of pizza will debut at all Sal¡¯s Pizza locations across the ballpark.

Fenway Park Ticket Programs for Kids and Students
The Red Sox Kid Nation program, presented by Dick¡¯s Sporting Goods, returns this season and offers young fans exclusive ticket offers, prizes, and benefits, including an incentive program with ¡°badges¡± that can be earned by participating in Kid Nation events, online STEM worksheets, and watching NESN Clubhouse. The free program for kids 14 and under includes a free kid¡¯s ticket to a Red Sox game with the purchase of an adult ticket. Children can be signed up by visiting redsox.com/kidnation.
The club will continue to offer the popular student ticket program, Student9s presented by New England Honda Dealers, for high school and college students to purchase tickets for as low as $9 with a valid student ID.
