Andre Dawson Classic
he Andre Dawson Classic is the annual, round-robin collegiate baseball tournament designed by Major League Baseball to highlight Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and their baseball programs.
Breakthrough Series
Established in 2008, the Breakthrough Series is a unique program that focuses on developing the player on and off the field through seminars, mentorship, gameplay, scout evaluations, video coverage and the highest level of instruction, all while providing a platform for the players to perform for scouts and collegiate coaches. Players are also eligible to participate on the Breakthrough Series Fall Tournament team.
Commissioner's Cup
The Commissioner¡¯s Cup is an annual baseball tournament held in the host city of MLB¡¯s All-Star Game as part of All-Star Week festivities with teams that are comprised mostly from MLB Youth Academies.
Desert Invitational
MLB Desert Invitational, formerly known as MLB4, launched in 2018 and features some of the top collegiate programs in the nation during college baseball¡¯s opening week.
DREAM Series
The DREAM Series is a development experience event focused on the dynamics of pitching and catching for a diverse group of elite high-school athletes, predominantly African American players, from across the country during the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend.
Girls Baseball Breakthrough Series
The Breakthrough Series is a joint effort on behalf of USA Baseball and Major League Baseball. This unique program focuses on developing the player on and off the field through seminars, mentorship, gameplay, evaluations, video coverage and the highest level of instruction, all while providing a platform for the players to perform. The 32 athletes for this event are identified as the top athletes from the Girls Baseball Elite Development Invitational.
Elite Development Invitational
The Elite Development Invitational is a multi-day event designed to provide exposure and develop 64 promising female baseball athletes. Invitees are led through a series of on-field workouts, games and off-field educational sessions. The top 32 athletes from EDI will be chosen for the Breakthrough Series. Athletes are identified through MLB GRIT, Trailblazer Series and an open application.
Hank Aaron Invitational
This unique amateur development event serves as a youth-oriented, on-field diversity initiative that aims to get high school-aged players with diverse backgrounds to the next levels of the game.
HBCU Swingman Classic
The HBCU Swingman Classic presented by T-Mobile highlights the history and legacy of HBCU baseball programs. Fifty Division I HBCU baseball players will get the opportunity to showcase their talent on a national stage. The student-athletes will be selected by a committee that will include Ken Griffey Jr., representatives from MLB and the MLBPA, and scouts.
High School All-American Game
High School Home Run Derby
The MLB-USA Baseball High School Home Run Derby features players from the High School All-American Game and other standout prep players from across the country.
Jennie Finch Classic
Named for MLB Softball Ambassador Jennie Finch, the Jennie Finch Classic is a competitive 18U softball tournament that takes place annually as part of All-Star Week with teams that are mostly comprised from MLB Youth Academies.
MLB GRIT
Major League Baseball's MLB GRIT: Girls ID TOUR is designed specifically for female athletes (18 and under) to showcase their talent and ability as baseball players. The event format is similar to a pro-style workout where athletes are evaluated on their talent.
MLB ID Tour
MLB ID TOUR is a grassroots initiative to identify talent in the graduating classes of 2028 and 2029 for baseball development programming.

The Elite Development Invitational is a multi-day event designed to provide exposure and develop 64 promising athletes. Invitees are led through a series of on-field workouts, games and off-field educational sessions while giving them a platform to perform in front of collegiate coaches. Athletes are chosen through a nomination process. Eligible athletes are members of an MLB Youth Academy or Nike RBI Program.
The Program
Major League Baseball's The Program participates in baseball development activities each week from mid-June through mid-July, preparing them for premier 16U tournaments on weekends against some of the top travel programs from around the country.
Trailblazer Series
In 2017, USA Baseball and Major League Baseball launched Trailblazer Series for girls built around Jackie Robinson Day in celebration of baseball¡¯s quintessential ¡°trailblazer." The objective of the event is to provide playing, development and educational opportunities to girls who play baseball.
