Earned a call to the big leagues after overpowering minor league hitters for 3 1/2 months to begin the year…contract was selected by Texas on 8/20, and he compiled a 4.91 ERA (2 ER/3.2 IP) over 4 relief appearances for the Rangers before an Injured List stint from 9/4-end of season with right shoulder fatigue…scoreless in three of four games…made his MLB debut on 8/21 at BOS, retiring all 3 batters faced in the 9th inn. of a 10-1 win at Fenway Park…whiffed J.D. Martinez for only ML strikeout to date…threw of 11 of his 46 total fastballs at 100+ mph, the hardest thrown pitches by any Ranger in 2021 (Statcast).

MINORS: Selected as Rangers Minor League Reliever of the Year…combined to go 1-1, 2.45 (9 ER/33.0 IP) with four saves, and 5 BB/47 SO over 28 relief appearances for High-A Hickory (10 G), Double-A Frisco (13 G), and Triple-A Round Rock (5 G)… had K’s in 27 of 28 minors outings, lone exception a one-batter appearance on 7/18 vs. Springfield (flyout)…opponents slashed .197/.228/.325/.552.
